  • E-Learning on the Go

    Funded May 9, 2020

The Chromebooks we received have been the perfect tool in providing students with language and academic instruction during these difficult times. Our students have learned to navigate Google Classroom successfully, complete assignments, and engage in a variety of reading opportunities online. With the help of so many other organizations providing free internet access and making their learning online tools free and available to students and teachers, we were able to provide the support our students needed to stay connected and learning. You can see how happy these little learners are, not only to have access to this learning tool but also to know that their learning is important to us.”

    With gratitude,

  • At-Home Libraries

Thank you so much for your support! I can't wait to share the news with our students and get them excited about the new books they will have to read. This project will bring us closer to meeting our students' academic and language needs, as well as connecting home and school in this continuous partnership it is education.”

  • Light Changing

    Funded May 8, 2019

My students love the feel our classroom has because of the changes we made. Everything feels so cozy, comfortable... safe! They say it was an incredible change and they feel like they are home but with so many school resources. Many of my students don't have access to many resources and technology at home so I make sure they get everything they need here in our classroom. Students are proud of our classroom and they make sure everything is in order. They were great putting everything together and deciding where to strategically place things to provide the best feel, light and decor of our room. Thank you so much for providing them with an incredible "feel good" opportunity that will enrich many moments this year and for years to come!”

  • Learning From a New Angle

    Funded Jan 9, 2019

Thank you so much for your support! The students are loving our new tool. They have been able to explore text with more focus and build reading stamina. It has motivated them to engage in reading with a level of excitement that wasn't there before. When completing tasks, because of the dual clipboard clip, they have a sense of organization and completion that comes easy and without pressure. The interaction with the board as a dry erase board and magnetic board allow students to share their work and take pride and care for their new tool. It has been incredible to see how our slant boards has made a difference for my kids. Thank you again!”

    Funded Apr 30, 2018

Thank you so much for your support! What an impact this set of differentiated activities has made to our scholars excitement towards learning. Scholars are engaged in selecting their tasks and motivated to see their final project completed. It brought excitement to classroom teachers working with ELLs as they have tasks that empower their scholars, as well as, it promotes learning in a creative way, giving scholars choices. Scholars can determine how they can best express their prior knowledge, thoughts, and creativity in an unique way. Thank you so much!”

  • A Place for Everything!

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

Thank you so much for your continuous support. Creating an environment that is organized and provide scholars with the tools they need are essential for their success. Scholars learn by example and they are eager to follow teacher's footsteps when they feel safe, welcomed and empowered. Each year I brainstorm with scholars some of the tools we need to make our classroom a safe, exciting and a place for them to be successful. The ideas are incredible and sometimes really funny. They think of everything. They pay attention to everything. So thank you for helping us have a place for everything in our classroom!”

  • Give Me More...Chapter Books

    Funded Dec 28, 2017

Thank you so much for your support! Having the chapter books for our ESL class has been more than just access to materials, but a reward and inspiration to these scholars. They have been so excited about having our own book club and to be able to engage in discussions not only on their language level but about stories they can connect with. They are engaged and coming out of the shells to ask questions and share their opinions, which can be a very challenging task for any scholars, but my ESL kiddos are learning and going above and beyond their language struggles to enrich each aspect of their academic journey. I am so proud of how much they have accomplished thus far and I can't wait to see what they will do as we continue to explore the lovely collection of chapter books we now have, thanks to you! Thank you again!”

  • Prizes Galore for Hundreds of Successful Smiles

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting our project! I am are very excited that the items have arrived and we began enjoying them already! The Prize Galore for Hundreds of Successful Smiles project was created to provide small incentives for hard working scholars completing their tasks as we come to our final stretch for the school year. The end of the school year can be challenging for many of our scholars as they must undergo a series of assessments while learning new content required to meet their grade level goals.

With so much at stake, providing small prizes that can bring joy to their challenging day is, in many cases, all a scholar needs to feel proud of their efforts, to feel of recognized and return to their task with the same effort they began when they first came to school. As a teacher, I provide many of these prizes throughout the year such as stickers, some yummy treats, and even recognition homemade lunch by me for certain, more intense projects. The results are so touching and inspiring.

Providing small prizes to show we see our scholars best efforts makes a world of a difference for many of them. When working with scholars in poverty communities, it is astonishing to see some of their needs, while working extremely hard to meet their academic goals. So, I am extremely thankful for your support in helping me provide these little extra smile and assurance that each effort is powerful beyond measure and that they are very special!”

  • I Looked It Up, Now I Know

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

Thank you so much for your support! Having a variety of dictionaries available in our classroom for all children has been an incredible help. Scholars have been more independent and active towards learning, reading comprehension and their written responses. They see how important it is to have the different levels of dictionary and how complex and more detailed they get with each level. Many of the scholars were able to make the connection of complexity with their reading levels and add a goal to be able to utilize a different level dictionary by the end of the school year. Thank you so much for empowering my little ones to become better readers and writers!”

  • Osmo Math & Coding - Awesomeness!

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

Thank you so much for your support! It has been so exciting and fascinating watching the scholars explore Osmo Coding, Jam and Hotwheels. They are learning so much and the problem solving skills are powerful as you hear and notice in conversations while engaging in these activities or simply making reference to the "games" as they figure out solutions to everyday challenges in class. It is an overall learning tool that has allowed scholars to explore tools they didn't expect to have access to. They are so proud of our Osmo sets and take joy in sharing with friends and family about their learning experience and how they are getting better each time they work on them. Thank you once again for believing in our project and making this possible for our school.”

    With gratitude,

My 90 ELLs grades K-5 come from many different places: Mexico, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Honduras, and China. Some of them were born in the US and only spoke the family's native language their entire life. We are a Title I school serving a high poverty community. To many, their exposure to adequate English language and access to technology only happens in school. They require constant encouragement, love, trust, understanding, empowerment, and appropriate tools to succeed to narrow the achievement gap. They need opportunity to shine and prove to themselves, family, and classroom teachers they can learn. Yes! They can learn! They can speak, listen, read, and write. Yes, they may be behind a grade level or more, but they work hard, they try hard, and they fall hard too, but they get up and do it all over again... because they believe, I believe, and you believe they can learn!
