  • Engaging and Relevant Learning Lasts a Lifetime

    Funded Dec 15, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity towards my students and I. Students are not. All on the same level. It is crucial that we meet students where they are and help them grow. We need to do this with dignity. Utilizing the resources helped us do just that. Students did not realize who were in the low or high group. The activities all looked them same,, yet they were different.

Thank you for helping me achieve individual specific centers. It is great to see my students push themselves and succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coba

  • Help Our Plants Survive Part III

    Funded Oct 28, 2023

Thank you for supporting our project and helping us learn the importance of growing healthy food and protecting our environment. We had over 45 volunteers come and help with installing the watering systems.

The kids were so excited to get started with planting. We have done lots of weeding to get ready. They have really seen the difference in the garden beds. Even during the winter they have seen the difference. Thank you for helping my students learn about the importance of healthy eating. With the cost of fresh vegetables, this will be a life long lesson for them."”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coba

  • School Wide Incentives Part II

    Funded Jan 17, 2024

Thank you so much for your kindness towards project. Students deserve the best and being the cheerleader when they have those successes. Celebrating them as well as helping them deal with how to deal with their emotions is awesome. Thank you for your continued support and love that you show my students and I!!”

  • School Wide Incentives

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you so much for your help. Students have really started to show more initiative to improve in areas of weakness in subject areas. They are even motivating other students to put forth more effort.

We are still dealing with the aftermath of COVID. Many students are still struggling with having structures that we have in school. With the initiative closet, I have seen an increase in positive behaviors as well as students taking initiative in their studies. They love the pop its as well as the smencils the most. Thank you for being a change maker. It is greatly appreciated!!”

  • Tomato Heaven

    Funded Aug 22, 2023

Thank you so much for helping us with our project. We have been working on our butterfly habitat for the past 2 years. Students have learned so much. One important thing that they learned was that we needed to protect the native plants. They grow very tall and are pretty. We wanted to keep out unwanted quests as well as those whose wanted to pick the pretty flowers. They are so excited to see how the border looks. They have sat outside and enjoyed looking at the birds and butterflies flying around the native plants. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!”

  • Showing What I Know

    Funded Apr 20, 2023

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! It seems like it is getting harder to get the basic needs to make learning fun and interactive. I love teaching and giving students voice, teaching them that that matter. Thank you for showing them that someone care enough to help get markers, dry erase boards, and sticky notes so that they can share their learning.

We have been learning so much about waste and the white boards and dry erase makers not only allow them to be active learners, it helps with not using so much paper and helping with the environment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!”

  • Basic Needs to Succeed

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your kindness towards our project. There have been so many cuts in education. Basic needs such as ink is crucial to what we do. Elementary students need to have hard copies to write on and interact with. Learning to write their names and moving from sentences to compositions is wonderful to see. Without your help this would not have been possible. In math learning place value to solving real world problems starts at the early age of 4. Elementary education is the foundation. So thank you for making such a positive impact in the lives of my students. I was able to start the school year stress free because of you. Thank you!!”

  • Growing Together

    Funded Dec 8, 2022

Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of students. We are teaching life long skills that will help them. Eating healthy can be expensive when you come from poverty. Going through the process of planting seeds to harvesting vegetables to eat was a great learning experience. Students loved harvesting and eating what they grew. They were were so excited for the strawberries. Next year will will have to do a tower. We did not have enough of a harvest for all the kids. Thank you again for all your help, so that I may give my students real world experiences.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coba

  • Hoodies for Success Part 2

    Funded Jan 25, 2023

Thank you so much fo making this project come to life. This year has been very diffidcult. Students are very extrinsically motivated. So they would go above what was asked to earn them. It is because of donors like you that

I was able to make this happen.

My students loved their hoodies!! They wore them with pride and other students are now trying to earn them. I have some students helping me to come up with different designs for the different academic subjects. These were a great motivator for both academics and behavior. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coba

More than 90% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. They come to a low-income Title I school every day where resources are very limited. Some of our students are unable to purchase supplies and the school is only able to do so much with the budget they have. Our students strive to do their best with what they have. Most parents hold 2-3 jobs and are unable to be there for their kids. 75% of our students are English Language Learners along with serving refugees and their families. Traveling outside of their neighborhoods is out of the norm for many of them. Some parents don't have IDs and are unable drive, while many of them rely on city buses to get to work. Parents are unable to take them places and when it comes to introducing them to new topics they are unable to make connections (their background knowledge is very low).
