I teach reading in a school that is almost 80% free or reduced lunch. My students don't often have reading materials at home, so I try to stock my shelves with up-to-date and interesting books to read. Our classroom collection is seriously lacking in nonfiction books; nonfiction is an area that my students need to read and appreciate to be well-rounded students.
