Thanks to DonorsChoose, our teachers can share information about their goals for their students and their individual classroom opportunities with donors from across the country.

With DonorsChoose, people from all over the world play a special part in making dreams a reality for teachers and students. As a district, we are grateful for partnerships like this one that enhance teaching and learning.

About Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools

As the fifth-largest and most diverse school district in Kansas, Kansas City, KS Public Schools is dedicated to serving approximately 22,000 students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. Our student body reflects a rich tapestry of diversity, with more than 56% identifying as Hispanic, 24% as African-American, 9% as White, 6.7% as Asian, and 3.6% as multiracial. Over 82% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch prices.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to preparing students for success in a global society. To achieve this goal, Kansas City, KS Public Schools has implemented the Diploma+ program. This initiative empowers students not only to graduate with a high school diploma but also to acquire additional assets, such as achieving a score of at least 21 on the ACT (1060 SAT), completing an internship, obtaining an industry credential, gaining acceptance into the military, or finishing 18-30 college credit hours.

Donors Choose plays a valuable role in investing in the growth and innovation of our students and teachers as they strive to fulfill their potential. Your support through Donors Choose contributes directly to creating a more enriching educational experience for our students and fostering an environment where teachers can implement innovative and effective teaching methods. Together, we are shaping the future of our community by empowering our students to excel in an ever-changing world.
