  • Read to Succeed!

    Funded Jun 13, 2012

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful donation to my classroom. My students have enjoyed the books as much as I have. They love going to the reading center because there is a book of interest for each child. The students have enjoyed exploring the different characters and settings. My sweet kindergarten students even took their learning to the next level by sorting our books into fiction and nonfiction. Learning has come to life for my sweet English language learners because of generous people like you.”

    Ms. Rodriguez

  • Add Some Oomph to Our Bass Section!

    Funded Sep 18, 2014

Thank you so much for your support in getting these bass xylophones into the hands of my students! They were literally jumping up and down with excitement when they first saw the brand new instruments out in my classroom. Now the one bass xylophone I had before, which was at the top of every student's list of instruments they most wanted to play, has become second-best because they all want to play the new ones! I have to keep reminding them that the old one used to be a prized commodity!

Having three bass xylophones has made such a difference in our ability to perform instrumental ensemble pieces. I'm now able to have small groups of students rotate through all of the different parts, including the bass line, and allow every student to experience each of the parts. I have also been able to incorporate them into the 5th and 6th grader's units on chords and bass clef note reading. By reading bass clef on instruments that actually play notes in those lower octaves, it makes it much easier to explain the concept of bass notes to students and let them apply it to their compositions and group projects.

Thank you again for supporting this project- you have made a tremendous impact in our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Caldwell

  • Conductor's Podium and Stereo Cart for Our Classroom

    Funded Sep 8, 2014

Thank you for your generous contribution to our project "Conductor's Podium and Stereo Cart for Our Classroom." The podium and stereo cart have been extremely beneficial in our rehearsals and classroom organization. As you can see from the pictures, the podium allows every member of our concert band to see the conductor easily. What a difference a few inches can make! The stereo cart is now housing our scores, metronomes, batteries and pencils. Our rehearsal keyboard and speaker system is safely contained and wired into it. It is so convenient to have everything we need for rehearsal in one secure, easily accessible place!

Your generosity is key to the success of our music program. I am so grateful for the support of our donors and volunteers. Thank you for helping us keep our music strong!”

    With gratitude,

  • Earth Without Art Is Just Eh!

    Funded Sep 21, 2014

The impact of having technology in our classroom has been overwhelming and amazing. The students were so shocked and amazed that they were being given such an awesome opportunity.

The students have been using the tablets to practice their drawing skills as well as taking photos and editing them on the various programs.

It has encouraged me to try new projects with my students and explore the technology part of art. From the bottom of my heart I thank each and every one of you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Schoenewald

  • Instrument Crisis 2012!

    Funded Dec 29, 2012

We could not be more thankful for your generous donations to our instrumental program! I am so lucky to work with amazing students, and we are all lucky to have supporters like you! Playing percussion is a very popular instrument to pick in both of my bands, and I have had to limit how many students we allow to play because we didn't have the necessary equipment. We were able to gain four new members in each of the bands, never having the opportunity to play in the past, and give them the chance to learn and perform in the percussion section. They have already performed in a total of four concerts, a parade, and soon to come, a baseball game and a graduation ceremony!

Your generosity has changed the lives of my students, present and future. Your donations give my students pride and unrelenting motivation, because you believe in them! We are incredibly thankful for donors such as you!

At our end of the year concert, we gave a big shout out all of you! We hope you heard it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zordan

  • Any Flutists in the House? Flutes for Young Musicians Part 1

    Funded Dec 8, 2012

I can't express the gratitude that I feel right now knowing that our woodwind sections is growing and our new students, who may never have even seen a flute up close, now will have the opportunity to play one. Thank you not only for your continuous support but for taking the time out to search and find my proposal to fund it. Every time you hear an orchestra or a band, please know you assisted in helping those tunes stay alive with music education. YOU have helped save the music and for that....we say thank you! :)”

    With gratitude,

  • We Have Rhythm, We Have Moves!

    Funded Oct 16, 2012

At the beginning of the school year, my students were eager to play instruments, something that they all understood as being part of musicianship. They really worked hard knowing that they were working to earn instruments that were coming. As they learned to care for the instruments and play them, they truly began to identify as young musicians.

These instruments have been used to serve over two hundred students so far and will continue to serve a larger number as our school grows adding three more grades.

Because of these instruments, my students are able to learn all of the big lessons that are required for musicianship: teamwork, discipline, hard work, practice, and many others.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Yates

  • Strings For the Heart II!

    Funded Jun 19, 2012

I cannot begin to tell you how much the string program I was able to expand, has impacted my students. I now have a larger group of students as there is more accessibility to instruments. We are currently preparing for a few end of the year performance, both on and off campus and the children are very excited.

The violins have brought my classes to life as many of my students have never touched the instrument, far less to learn how to play it. I am hoping to extend the program even further next school year by including guitars, as my male students have been consistently asking about it.

Thank you again for all that you do and for supporting the arts in public schools.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aming

  • Save Our Band!!!

    Funded Oct 2, 2012

I simply cannot begin to express our gratitude that has resulted from your selfless giving. Often times, our students come from very poor backgrounds and rarely have the resources to participate in band. Because of your gift we were able to use the instruments and tools that you sent to equip our students.

Donors like you are the real champions of public education. You see the need and rise to the occasion time and time again. Our students were thrilled when the boxes arrived and they knew that we would continue to make music together because we had the necessary tools that once were lacking.

Again, thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

  • Project "Stop Borrowing Instruments" - Clarinet

    Funded Dec 11, 2012

Thank you to each of you for your donations that led to the purchase of a brand new Buffet B12 clarinet. This instrument is the standard among beginning clarinets and is currently the best clarinet we have at the school. The student that is currently playing the clarinet cherishes it dearly and practices it often. He was very excited when he opened the box that it was in.

Thank you all for your committment to education. Without you, I could never be as successful as I am. Thank you from the deepest part of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Mabry
