  • Laser Firing Color and Creativity

    Funded Jan 12, 2023

Thank you all so much for helping us to bring this project to life. As we approach the end of our robotics unit and move towards design, it is so important for us to have materials to make and create with. These materials allow us to do that and allow us to do so without the students having to provide anything for their projects. This means a lot because many of our students cannot afford materials for these projects. The kids pick the materials they want and are able to then use them to bring their designs to life. Engagement and creativity is raised so high. We cannot thank our donors enough for helping us to keep this going.”

    With gratitude,

  • This Manga is (Volley)ballin'!

    Funded Nov 12, 2022

Haikyuu! has expanded our students' reading from My Hero Academia to more Manga. It has also gotten students who are more athletic interested in something they have perceived as "nerdy" - anime/manga.

Our Japanese students learning English are also excited to have more familiar texts to read in English. These and our other Manga titles are helping them develop more English proficiency.

Manga is like the comic books of the 20th century: episodic, action-packed, and interesting. Instead of punishing students for reading these types of texts - as the old teachers used to do - we embrace it as part of literacy.”

  • Reading En Español

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations. We will start reading in the classroom and students will be able to make connections between Berto from Spain and us here in our classroom. I am very excited because this will help my High School Spanish class feel like they are learning and are able to speak and understand Spanish. The book will relate with the students because it talks about his classes and how one teacher is boring and another likes to yell and things they might think is true to their own school experience.

Again, thank you so much for your support and helping my students enjoy learning a new language.”

  • A Cut Above the Rest!

    Funded Sep 16, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our "Cut Above the Rest" project. We have used our new paper cutter to make sketchbooks of all sizes. Our paper cutter has helped to make over 200 sketchbooks!

We made mini sketchbooks for the month of October. Students used those sketchbooks to complete the popular "inktober" challenge, where they drew a picture a day for the whole month of October! We also made travel sketchbooks for of our field trip to the botanical gardens where students practiced "plein air" sketching! Our new paper cutter has been a game changer!”

  • Capping Creativity With a Cool Hat

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping us gather the materials that we will need for our graphic design and modeling units that we will be doing in the first part of the new year. This means a lot to us and we will be able to offer this opportunity to every student and will not have to ask them to provide any materials. This means that everyone will be able to participate and learn on the same level. Your support means the world to us and we are so thankful for our donors. We could not do these things without your help.”

  • Charging Stations

    Funded Sep 12, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us fund this project. My classroom is very small and only has two outlets. We have been so lucky that all students have laptops but that meant we couldn't have everyone charging and we struggled with classroom activities and games. Just in the short time we've had them, we have used them every single day! The covering of the cord is so great because I can hid some of the cords and kids aren't unplugging things because they hit them on accident. I'm so happy to have a huge support in other teachers, parents and friends.”

  • Kindness Created in the Forge

    Funded Oct 22, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping bring this project to life, this means so much to our students and will help us be creators and makers in our classroom. The students were very interested in what we were getting and then had lots of questions about how they would work in the Glowforge, I cannot wait until we get into this unit of graphic design and modeling to see what they create. Encouraging them to give their creations to others helps them to develop empathy and a sense of service as they see the appreciation that others have for their kindness. Your kindness helps facilitate this.”
