  • Allow All to See!

    Funded May 29, 2020

Thank you so much for giving this gift to my students. Allowing me to not only show books and examples easier for my whole group to see, it is allowing me to connect with my virtual students as well. They are able to see exactly what I am modeling or reading along with my students in person. I can also record what was shown to show to students who may have been absent for the day.

My students favorite is the read aloud books they get to experience together as a class and see up close no matter how far apart they are sitting or need to be separated. This has made huge impacts on being able to support and model great writing revisions and showing examples to students as well.

This one device has forever changed our classroom and they way we work. Everyone can know hear, and see what is being taught no matter where they are.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Juntila Streckenbach

  • STEAM Activities for My Scientists!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for the Tinkering Labs!! All of my students were able to work in groups to solve the challenges together. Because of the hands on nature, even the students who are less likely to get excited about science were helping and making discoveries along with everyone else. Students were so excited to dig into the challenges and think out of the box. Every day, they were excited to get started and cheered together when they accomplished their goal.

Most students have stated that the Tinkering Labs were their favorite part of their science curriculum. It was one of the first things we got to do when students came back together as a whole class late this winter. It was the perfect way to be able to do the hands on science we were unable to do while we were only half in attendance or fully virtual.

Having the Tinkering Labs was a true celebration of the collaboration of science!”

  • Design and Create with the Cricut Explore 2

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for making this project possible for the 5th and 6th grade students in my school. They are so excited to start using our Cricut machine and the supplies that came with it. The materials arrived just shortly after Covid hit and up to this point we have not yet had the opportunity to dig in and enjoy "creating" with the machine. We have some great ideas for using the Cricut machine in which we are hoping to do yet this year. One of our first creations will be for students to create their own bookmarks using felt. These bookmarks will be a demonstration of the literary term "symbolism" which students are learning in their ELA classes. The students are super excited to get started using their new Cricut machine that has been so generously funded for them.”

  • Ready, Set, Action!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you for your generosity in donating to our classroom project. My students were thrilled to receive the bouncy bands, phones, and STEM materials. These are all items we use daily. During this time, the bouncy bands have been helpful to students as we aren't moving around the classroom as usual. This helps students get energy out in a productive way while concentrating on their academics. The microphones are available to students to help with recording. Students are able to show what they know without interruptions and background noises. Our new STEM materials have provided students with new opportunities to create, build, and explore. During a unique learning year, I appreciate these learning tools that enhance student learning.”

  • Grab a Seat

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! Although the students were only in the building for a short time, they were able to utilize the hightop seating as well as the iPad/MacBook stands. The students appreciated these options versus the traditional desk seating.

When the students return to the school setting in January, they will be excited to utilize different seating options to help them transition for home learning to school learning. It gives them flexibility while at the same time allowing them to practice social distancing. The items purchased are super easy to clean to help with health/safety within the classroom.

We will continue to use different seating configurations within the classroom as we move into 2nd semester.”

  • Student Technology Team Creating Community Connections

    Funded Sep 25, 2019

Your generosity is appreciated more than you know! Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 closure, our student technology team was unable to experience the trip we had planned to the IT Department at St. Norbert College. Instead, your donation was used to purchase Make-Do cardboard construction kits and Brain Flakes for in our Solutionist Studio. Students at my school have not yet had the opportunity to use these new materials because our school has been closed. However, I had my daughters who are both students in the same school district, use them to build and create.

Their experience building and creating with cardboard and Brain Flakes encouraged creativity, imagination, and critical thinking skills. They experimented with a variety of ways to use the Make Do tools and built both 2-D and 3-D creations with the Brain Flakes. When they accomplished their construction goals, the look of accomplishment and pride on their faces was irreplaceable!

Once we are with students at school again, these tools will be used in similar ways to inspire students to design, build, test, improve, and reflect. The power of design thinking is limitless and learners' thinking is challenged from beginning to end. Thank you again for your generous donation that will impact the learning experience of 500+ Kindergarten-4th grade students!”

  • Really Love Reading!

    Funded May 5, 2020

The opportunity to work with diverse learners is both unique and rewarding. My hope is that all of the students I work with feel loved and supported to reach their goals, academic or otherwise. One way I wanted to support them is to provide my students with all of the tools they need to be successful in literacy. Children fall in love with reading when they have access to books and materials that interest them. Thanks to your generosity and support, I was able to select a variety of books for my readers to get excited about. I hope we can be reunited in person soon so they can book shop and pick out some new reads!”

  • Comfy, Colorful and Calming Classroom

    Funded May 5, 2020

As this school year begins, it is obvious it is very different than past school starts. I have students I support attending school both in person and virtually.

For my students attending school in person, what they need most is to feel safe and loved. One way I am able to do that now is by providing a space of calm, a space they can breathe and relax if feeling overwhelmed, and a space that is enjoyable to be in.

They are LOVING the mood that the salt lamps set. They love to watch the jellyfish aquarium as well. My rug is not allowed in the classroom yet....but once it is, it will only enhance the space!”
