  • Just the Basics, Ma'am! We Need Some School Supplies

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you for supporting my classroom! Every time a project is funded my heart swells with gratitude. These supplies will be put to use immediately when they arrive. I can’t wait to tell the students that supplies are on the way! Your commitment to teachers and students is appreciated.”

  • Wiggle While You Work - Phase 2

    Funded Dec 4, 2018

Wow! I never thought bean bags and balance balls would be so popular! Students absolutely love using the different type of seating. Everyday, I'm asked if a group can use the "Kick It Corner." In a few of the pictures I've posted, the kids are working on math collaboratively AND doing coding activities and lessons. For some, the corner adds a quiet space to read or work and for others a lively place to interact and collaborate. If all 34 students could pile in the corner, they would! It's just added a relaxed work space to our room. I love it for the students and they love it as well.”

  • Wiggle While You Work - Phase 1

    Funded Oct 15, 2018

The students absolutely LOVE the Hoki stools we received. Students who struggle to sit still have found them particularly useful. As a teacher, I love having seating options for all students to meet their needs and these stools fit the bill. Your generosity has enriched our classroom. The stools have provided countless opportunities for group work and collaboration for students who would otherwise struggle. In addition, all students love having a different kind of seat to sit in. We have to get more! Thanks so much for donating to my classroom.”

  • Learning in Today's 21st Century

    Funded Jan 20, 2017

Having Chrome books for our students has been great. They are learning skills to prepare them for college and beyond. Students have been learning word processing skills as well as skills to present learning in slides. Not only have they learned the basics, but they have also have learned coding. They write code to make animated clips that can be shared and critiqued on a world wide platform! We also use the chrome books to manage our class. All assignments and notes are posted in an on line classroom that parents and students can access. Students access the classroom through their chrome books. It's a game changer.

Thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • STEM Animation Take #2

    Funded May 21, 2018

What a great addition of 21st Century skills for the classroom! My students have been highly motivated to show their learning using the StikBots. Students created one project since receiving the StikBots, even so close to the end of school.

Students chose a research topic and turned that idea into an informational video. Each group researched a math or science topic. One group presented their knowledge on the reasons for seasons. The students wrote, filmed, and edited the animation videos. Students had a great time showing their learning. It was a great learning experience directly resulting from your donations!

I thank you for your support to our classroom. I appreciate your generosity in helping to foster a classroom based in 21st Century skills.”

  • STEM Animation Take #1

    Funded Mar 13, 2018

What a great addition of 21st Century skills for the classroom! My students have been highly motivated to show their learning using the StikBots. Students created one project since receiving the StikBots, and it was to create a Public Service Announcement for Earth Day using the Stikbots.

Students chose a research topic and turned that idea into a Public Service Announcement. One group researched plastic and created animation about reducing plastic waste. Another group researched water conservation. The students wrote, filmed, and edited the animation videos. Students had a great time showing their learning. It was a great learning experience directly resulting from your donations!

I thank you for your support to our classroom. I appreciate your generosity in helping to foster a classroom based in 21st Century skills.”

  • 21st Century Learning

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. We were able to add Chromebooks to our classroom as we strive to our goal of 1:1 devices. In math, science, and STEM we are able to research and plan projects. With your donation students no longer have to share devices. Not only are students researching topics, but they are learning valuable 21st Century skills.

Recently, students used Chromebooks to determine the best cost for making magnetic slime in S.T.E.M.. Students were given a recipe that needed to be made bigger so all students could participate and take home slime. Students then had to find the least expensive products to have the lowest unit cost per student for all ingredients. Think of all the real life math they got to do. This project would never have been possible without the use of Chromebooks! Once students found the best price, they wrote persuasive letters to administration to support the cost of the project. Not only were they able to complete the project, but students had to save, share, and present information through Google Docs. It's amazing what kids can accomplish given the right tools.

Currently, students are using the Chromebooks to research and create their own electronic circuits given a list of supplies. We have 100% engagement! In math, I am able to create individual learning paths for students to access through the Chromebooks. With this technology, students are able to access the skills at their learning level through either remediation or enrichment.

These are just a few ways that your donation has enriched the learning of my students. Your donation will continue to students' learning for years to come. Thank you.”

  • Calculators Needed!

    Funded Jul 30, 2010

I want to express my sincerest thanks for your donation to our classroom. We have been using the calculators in math and the students are JAZZED! Special Education students have been using the calculators to check their work, and advanced students have been using them to investigate larger numbers. You can see from the pictures the joy and interest these calculators have generated.

The unique function of these calculators is that they perform operations with fractions! These calculators are age appropriate and the students are amazed at what they can do. Students who were not motivated to do work, are now motivated so they can check their answers with the calculator. This was an unexpected and welcomed effect of adding the calculators to my classroom. You have not only given us a tool for our classroom, but have inspired minds to play with numbers and see the relationships between them.

In these tough economic times it is difficult to get supplies for the classroom. You provided me with a teaching tool I can use for years to come, and I am eternally grateful. I could have never provided these calculators for my students without your help. Thank you.”

  • For The LOVE Of Reading And Social Studies

    Funded Dec 31, 2008

I returned from winter break and was thrilled that our book request was funded! I shared the information with my students and they were just as excited with the news. We can't wait to get this book and share it together as we study Ancient Greece. I thank you for your kindness and generosity during these tough economic times. I want you to know that this book will foster the love of reading for my current class and many more to come! THANK YOU!
