Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. It is wonderful to know that you are concerned about providing a quality public education to all students in our state.
My students will be so excited to have these new resources to create a cozy, clean book nook. At this time in the year, students are reading independently for longer periods of time and this spot will help them develop their reading stamina. What second grader could resist curling up in a cozy place to read a great book?!
I would like to whole-heartedly thank you for your donation of Spanish books to our Spanish program. We have just implemented our program, and the books you gave were a crucial element of our reading component. It is amazing to me how a small school in California is able to receive contributions from donors all around the country. You, along with a few other donors, have come together to make our language program successful!
We were able to use the books in a few different ways this year. Our most favorite way of using the books was to have small groups of Spanish-speaking students read the books with a small group with a teacher. The students enjoyed having a variety of books to read, with new pictures and vocabulary in each book. We also had students read the book in partners, by themselves, and a few times, with parent volunteers. The best part about having the books was seeing the students eyes light up when we gave them a new book to read. They loved the colorful pictures!
I am also excited to use the books next year! In addition to repeating this year's activities, we are envisioning partnering some of our older, Spanish-speaking students with younger ones, so that a larger Spanish-speaking community evolves. Your generous gift will continue to be used well into the future!
Thank you again for your contribution to our program! ”
I greatly appreciate your donations which gave my students the a much needed rug to sit on. Your assistance has been invaluable to my kids during this school year. Because of the rug my students are able to have space to sit comfortably which allows them to focus. The squares on the rug give each student his or her own spot which facilitates our seating and saves valuable classroom time.
Our school district is fighting budget cuts and without the support from donors like you our students would never have access this important resource. It is not possible for our school to afford to replace old rugs when they are worn out and dirty, or when class sizes increase and we don't have enough spaces on the rug for all students.
Again, thank you for your gracious donation from the bottom of our hearts. You should be proud to know that your gift has touched the lives of many youth. These resources have brought lots of joy to our students. Thank you for investing in the future of our nation.”
I want to let you personally know how important your donation to my classroom has been. The main point I want to make is that in the current year, I have 8 students in class. It is the second year for my program in a large school, and I was looking for ways to attract more students to how awesome physics can be. Through the use of hands on, student centered lessons; the word of how fun, and challenging, my class is has gotten around. Students have pre-registered for next year, I have 27 students on the roster.
With the materials I received, I was able to demonstrate Snell's Law for light passing from one medium to another. Additionally, I was able to show my students total internal reflection as light passes from water into air, make calculations, and verify relationships. The students used the acrylic block, again, to study Snell's Law. They used the blocks, pins, and copy paper to trace the path of light outside and inside of the block. They measured the angles of the light and graphed it to determine the index of refraction of the block. The students then used the lasers, diffraction gratings, and two meter sticks to measure the interference patterns of the light at different distances from a screen. They plotted their data to determine the wavelength of the light.
My students have submitted their course evaluations and indicated that these activities were two of the favorite things they did this year. Once again, I want to thank you for donating and making science classes, not only my own, more meaningful to students.”
Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation to my elementary Science Lab classroom. Your donation supplied us with a variety of learning tools to learn about animals. You gave us a collection of photo cards of over 200 animals, model animals, animal puppets, and some real animal specimens encased in plastic.
Every week, I teach Science to all 300 students in our elementary school. Your gifts have been used and enjoyed by all of them! They have been used by kindergartners as they learn how to classify animals, by first graders who learn about about animal habitats, by second graders who learn about animal life cycles, by third graders who learn about animal adaptations, and by 4th graders who learn about the way animals in an ecosystem interact in complex food webs. We will continue to use these tools in years to come.
Thank you for your generosity, for your support of science education, and for your support of public school. You are making our school a more exciting place for children grow.”
I greatly appreciate your donations which gave my students the resources they need to explore the art world. Your assistance has been invaluable to my kids during this school year. Your donations brought paint, paint brushes, yarn, tissue paper, and paper. Access to these supplies has expanded their knowledge of art and artist's materials. We have used these materials to explore the color wheel, color theory, sculpture and mix media projects. A huge success this year was learning about piggy banks. Our class discussed why we should have a piggy bank and agreed that it's never to early to start saving! We got our hands messy with paper mache to build the structure. Then, the icing on the cake was getting to use paint to decorate their very own piggy bank. This project will hopefully instill the notion that it's important to save money for things we want and need.
Our school district is fighting budget cuts and without the support from donors like you our students would never have access these important resources. Art is not mandatory in elementary schools and many students miss out on gaining motor skills and pushing their creativity. These essential skills will help my students grow every day.
Again, thank you for your gracious donations from the bottom of our hearts. You should be proud to know that your gift has touched the lives of many youth. These resources have brought not only more knowledge to these students, but lots of joy. Thank you for investing in the future of our nation. ”
Thank you so much for supporting our project of bringing books into our classroom. It was such an amazing experience to watch the excitement of my students seeing boxes mailed in and unpacking them! With the help of my students, we have been able to create a dynamic classroom library and we have initiated a library card system where students can check out books to read at home.
Thank you so so so much for supporting this project. You have made my students feel special and helped usher in a culture of love of reading.”
Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. Now that spring has finally arrived we have had the opportunity to use the water quality testing materials that your donation provided to us. I have used the materials with my 7th grade life science students, 10th grade biology, and advanced placement environmental science classes.
Data collection is fundamental to good science education. Unfortunately budget restrictions have made it difficult to purchase basic materials let alone materials that provide students with enriching experiences that generate fascination and interest in science. Without donors like you, my students and many others around the United States would not have access to those enriching experiences.
As I write this letter, I am extremely thankful to EVERYONE who donated! 2nd grade is a fun grade to teach, and it is so helpful to have a library with all the extras. 24 incredible students now have access to a Marine Bin (by far the most popular) to a Dr. Seuss and Clifford (a close runner up) Bin ... and many more!
2nd grade is a time when students start moving away from merely learning how to read to becoming life long readers. It is encouraging to know so many people not only value education, but are an integral part in making sure students from all backgrounds have access to an equal, quality education.
The students, and I, are indebted to your generosity.”
I want you to know that your generous donations have made an impact on my students' learning. The portable CD players are used every day for numerous activities. My students absolutely love listening to audio books during reader's workshop and free choice time! In just the past month of using our new learning tools, I have seen a significant difference of expression and fluency in my students' reading. They imitate the voices and intonations of the audio stories heard when rereading the stories independently, and are transferring this skill when reading other books. Students are also able to practice comprehension of text by responding to the stories after listening to them on CD. Moreover, it has helped strengthen my students' phonics skills! The CD players allow us to use our phonics listening kit to learn our short and long vowels, blends, and consonant digraphs. Even my most challenging students are listening and learning!
Thank you so much for kindness and generosity! Without your help, we would be without such a vital resource in the classroom. You are helping to make a difference in my students' education and future students to come! ”
With gratitude,
Ms. Duong
