Hands on Physics

Funded Dec 4, 2010

I first want to thank you for your generosity towards my classroom. Something as little as a few stopwatches have had a great impact on my classroom this year and will for many years to come. In the past students have had to complete many of these activities in groups of four or five due to the fact that we did not have enough materials for them to use. By purchasing these stopwatches, my students have been able to work in partners and work more hands-on with the concepts of physics that they struggle so much with. Other science teachers in the building will also have resources to use that had not been available in the past.

By using these materials, students have been able to work more closely with the laws of physics. All students have been able to participate in activities relating to force and speed. They have been able to time and record data more efficiently and effectively than in the past. Above all, my students were so excited that others are taking an interest in their education in this time of struggle for our school district. My students could not believe there are people out there willing to donate to their education.

We greatly appreciate all that you have done for my classroom. I am forever grateful and my students are appreciative as well. ”

With gratitude,

Ms. Weter
