It just so happens that the members of BCFD Truck 18 on B-shift were growing out mustaches just for fun when one of the members came across this charity event. We figured we might as well try to help some kids and get something positive out of this hairy situation we find ourselves in.   • Help Us To Green Our Concrete Jungle

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This letter can only show you a glimpse of my gratitude for the opportunities your donations have allowed my kids. We have very little opportunity to interact with dirt and growing things. The excitement and amazement on my students' faces as they watch the tiny seeds sprout is priceless. I can see the engagement and the learning in their faces. Thank you for giving us this gift. Our worm compost will help to nurture our classroom garden during summer school, further continuing our learning. There is an excitement about plants and helping the environment. Thank you for nurturing our seedlings.

    The school budget has been slashed this year, so without your gifts this hands-on learning opportunity would have been impossible. I can see the learning seeds you helped to plant blossoming in my students. Our gratitude is immense.

  • Technology Enhances Learning in First Grade

    Your generous donation to our class does not go unused. Everyday we use the projector. It is a very versatile item. We use it for our Promethean board activities. We projector literature books with it. This makes the print large enough for everyone to see. We use it for teaching math. Promethean planet has 1000's of usable flipcharts that let the students interact with math and math concepts. We use it to watch educational and quality family videos for instruction and for pleasure. We went on a fieldtrip to the aquarium. We created a video of our trip. We watched the video using the projector. My students are pleased everyday with every use of the projector. They love it as much as I do. Thank you and your families for the generous donation. It is a wonderful gift to a very active group of first graders.”
