With the Properties of Earth Activity Tubs and Book Libraries you so generously funded
my 8th grade reading improvement students were able to present earth science lab activities, and engage in group and partner reading with our 5th grade science students. Our state assesses essential knowledge and skills in science in both the 5th and 8th grades. In both our district, and on a state-wide level, the earth sciences have always been the weakest area. Our project strengthened these skills both in my reading improvement students, and the 5th grade science students. In addition, the project helped build the character of my students, helped them develop a sense of civic responsibility, while improving both our elementary and middle schools, and strengthening the community as a whole. They taught the younger students about earth processes, the importance of protecting our planet, while engaging in hands-on lab activities, and group and partnered reading. I believe the results will be priceless.
Thanks again.”

Thank you all so much for your generous donations. We now have enough EarthBoxes to actually start a project. We will be using them this fall to grow radishes and spinach to make a healthy, homegrown salad for the students to have at lunch one day. We will be using them again in the spring to start milkweed plants, tree seedlings, and other native plants to use in the restoration of our stream study site.
Hands-on learning makes all the difference when it comes to exciting children about their education. Your kindness in providing the funding for the EarthBoxes provides that difference. ”

The two EarthBox kits, hand tools, a pocket pruner, and other accessories that you have so generously funded will allow us to start to establish our outdoor garden. We've had great success with our indoor greenhouse, and now we will be able to transplant tomato and pepper plants to the EarthBox kits.
The students truly enjoy learning where their food comes from, and getting their hands dirty with some truly hands-on science. You should see the excitement on their faces when the seeds finally sprout and grow.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.”
