It has been awhile since this project was funded. I wanted to wait and see how my students would handle the new pet and what they would learn from him. These past two years have been amazing! Spike, our bearded dragon, has taught us so much about habitats and environments. We've talked about weather tools and the wants/needs of living things. My students have truly enjoyed having Spike in our classroom.
My students (all 650 of them!) are so very thankful for your donations. They love coming in every morning/afternoon and checking on Spike. One of our reading centers has been updated since your donations and we have even more bearded dragon related books! The students enjoy reading about how to take care of a lizard, along with the many other types of lizard that exist.
The students stay engage in the classroom and I truly believe it is because of our classroom pet and the donations that you gave to insure that he was well taken care of. The students have definitely become Bearded Dragon Experts!”
Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. The students were very excited about our classroom Nook. They were very excited to pick out books to add our Nook. Students use the Nook during the before school program, during centers, and during the after school program. I have seen an increase in students asking to read. Especially, the boys in my class that often would not read. They love reading on the Nook and do it so much more, because they are excited.
Your donation has made a huge impact on my students and their desire to read. Many more classes will benefit from this awesome donation.”

Thank you for helping to make our class project possible. The students are now able to access information about their world via Scholastic and Time for Kids magazines. As the new standards call for a focus on informational text, the children are being exposed to this text in a fun way thanks to you. Many of my students' faces light up on Monday mornings when they receive the newest copy of one of the magazines on their desk. We are truly thankful for donors like you who made this project possible.”
Thank you so much for funding the laptop project for my classroom. It has been quite helpful having a laptop available for the students. They have been able to use it to connect to the Internet and research information about the symbols of California for a recent social studies project. Students were able to see photographs and videos of things such as the California insect (the California Dogface Butterfly), the California marine mammal (the California Gray Whale), and the California state bird (the California Valley Quail). Seeing the photographs and videos, and reading information about their chosen symbol, really enhanced student learning.
Having a laptop computer in our classroom gives easy access to information for all of my students, and makes learning fun and relevant. Thank you for your generous donation to this project. Your support is truly appreciated.”
Thank you so much for your generosity and giving us the opportunity to enjoy these wonderful learning tools. Due to budget cuts and decreased spending we would not have had the experience of using some of these items.
The students are enjoying the globe tremendously and often ask to use it during free choice time. They have learned how to identify not only Australia but other continents and countries as well and facts about them. The globe has taken them one step further in their learning from the maps we received and have posted in our room. The students refer to the globe and maps when we talk about other parts of the world too! It is great observing them when they make these connections.
Our letter writing assignment to our pen pals in Australia was so much fun! It was great writing practice combined with a wonderful learning experience. Thank you for the writing paper which has been used almost every day. The background knowledge from the books about Australia was very helpful!”
Thank you so much for your donation to our Dance Program. The DVDs and electronic equipment was used for a choreography project that encouraged all of my dance students to push themselves artistically and creatively. I challenge myself everyday to expose the dancers to as many forms and styles of dance as possible so that their understanding of this art form is as broad and deep as possible. Your donation made it possible for me to introduce them to dance styles as diverse as American Modern Dance, traditional Irish Step Dance, and urban dance from the 1970's. Not only did the students enjoy this project, but they were able to grow in their creativity as they applied the concepts they learned about to their own choreographed compositions. In addition, the opportunity to watch themselves using the cameras and TV donated through this project, allowed them the opportunity to really reflect on their work and be their own best critics.
I will continue with this successful project in future semesters. I know many more dancers will be able to benefit from the wonderful materials you donated to make this possible. I can't wait to see what creativity they too will bring to the stage!”
I wanted to thank you again for making this project possible. It has been a true joy to be able to see my students' growth throughout the year. Being able to use all the materials you helped donate really maximized the learning in my classroom. With your help I was able to enrich our science lessons with materials that helped my students understand and connect to some difficult concepts like photosynthesis, the human body and the solar system. My students were able to observe, experiment and have fun at the same time! Thank you!”

I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your help in funding my project "Projector projects produce powerful pupils." Due to your kindness and generosity, a different way to learn has been open to my students. The impact that something as small as a projector can have on their learning is truly profound. This was my first time posting a project on this site and I could not of been more pleased to see how quick people began to support it. It just goes to show how so many kind and outgoing people are out there today.
In closing, I would just like to reiterate the gratitude and thankfulness I feel towards you all. It's amazing to see the smile on my students faces each time I get to use the projector in class. YOU all are the reason for that. You helped make an impact in their lives as much as a teacher can because you helped open a new door in their learning. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you, so much for your help with this. It would not have been possible with out you.”
I would like to thank each of you again for your generous donations. With your donations, we were able to purchase recycling bins for my entire school along with informational magazines and books about caring for the environment. My students have become very interested and knowledgeable about recycling since the start of our project. We collect recycling for each classroom each week, but we also talk to the students about how we can use less paper. We have also held contests to see which class could collect the most recyclable materials.
This week for Earth Day, the students thought of ways to get their message out further. They created videos encouraging others to decrease their use of plastic water bottles and teaching people why its important to recycle plastic water bottles. We also decorated bags for a local grocery store that had a message on it encouraging others to "Be green". While your donation didn't cover these items, I wanted you to know the lasting impact our project on recycling had on my students.”

As the full time dance educator at my school, I am constantly trying to find new ways to make media/technology accessible to my students. I have gathered resources in the past, however we are constantly needing to upgrade/update. The resources I requested in this donors choose will help us do just that.
The projector and mount will be hung from our ceiling and connect to a central location to make things more accessible to myself and the students. We will then be able to view videos from the Internet of professional dance on my website as well as the students' work, without wheeling out a cart and or taking time to set things up. This set up is leading us into a more organized use of our resources.
Again, we thank you greatly for contributing to building our dance program through the use of technological resources. There is a process to learning and in order to get there, we must investigate through the world around us. Te”
