It is with mixed emotions that, once again, I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, I am subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be as ridiculous looking a Mustache as last year's. Your generosity has been received by very happy students! We have enjoyed using the rug as a gathering place each day and so much more. Students use it for partner work when their table becomes too crowded for them; students say things like, " Let's meet in Asia." Students now ask, "Should we sit on the perimeter or the area of the rug?" These unexpected learning opportunities are due to your willingness to give my class a gift of a classroom rug.
I would like to thank you for opening your hearts to my students. With the purchase of the locked cabinet for our school store we will be able to easily access supplies to set up an appealing display to the rest of the school. We are very excited about putting this all into place starting in October of this school year.
The children in my class last year are going to train this year's class and mentor them through the year which will help with one of our main goals of accessing the English language in a real world context while strengthening our math skills.
I just wanted to thank you again for your donations. You will not believe the impact of the items donated! Throughout the year, students were able to use fluency passages to practice their expression, pace, and accuracy with their partners. They were also able to read engaging nonfiction text from the Time for Kids. Both fluency and Time for Kids were two of their favorite stations!!! However, the kids did not just enjoy the stations, but truly benefited from it. At the beginning of the year, only 7% of students were on grade level. By the end of the year, 85% of students are on grade level. This is so exciting!!! Thank you for your support!! You truly have impacted this group of kids!
Educationally Yours, Meredith ”

Once again, thank you SO much for your generous donations that have made this project possible. Our magazines will not start to arrive until the fall, but I have shown my students some of the magazines my own children have received over the years. The students are very excited, not only to get such beautiful magazines, but to know that they will get to take the magazines home with them when we have finished using them in class. I am sure the magazines will get reread, not just by my students, but also by their siblings and maybe even their parents!
The interactive activities I asked for to accompany the magazines will add another 'wow' factor for the kids. I am looking forward to next school year already!”
I cannot thank you enough for your donation towards books in my classroom library. My students were ecstatic upon receiving the new chapter books. I am convinced that by getting students excited about what they are reading is the key to motivating them to want to read and learn.
Until I received these new books, my students generally only had new books available to them once every two weeks, through a trip to our school library. The excitement I saw when we made these bi-weekly trips to the library, I was now seeing each day while students were eagerly swapping Zach Files books with one another. In addition, students were not only choosing books for themselves, but also recommending their favorite books to one another.
Again, thank you for your donations. Your generosity has inspired me, but more importantly, has shown my students that there are people who truly believe in their achievement.
"The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
It is so exciting to know there are wonderful people just like you all who deeply care about our students and their education. We were all so excited to receive our package from donor's choose.
With our new games the students were able to practice number concepts independently and begin to really develop an understanding of numbers and how they work. The listening center helped them review concepts such as sorting and patterning. The materials were great because they could be used whole class, in small groups, or even independently.
I would just like to send one last sincere thank you to all our donors. I hope you all know how much your gift means to my class. ”
On behalf of my 100+ third grade students, and many more to come, thank you so much for your generosity. The recorders have been sorted, distributed, assigned, and PLAYED! I wish that I could send you hundreds of pictures of the joy that explodes from the faces of these precious students when they first hold "their own" recorders. It is better than giving them candy or money; this is something tangible that has their own name on it, and no one else will be using it.
Some of the songs that they have already learned in the short time we have had the recorders are: Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb, and "Da Pachem" which means "Bring Us Peace." Each class has sung and played through these pieces, and it even brought tears to the eyes of their homeroom teachers.
Thank you so much - you are touching hundreds of lives for many years to come!”
I want to thank all of you for your generosity. One of the frustrations of teaching in urban school districts is the severe lack of funding for extra materials. I remember my own high school experience in a well-financed school district. I received the same copy of the Constitution that with your help I was able to provide to my students today. It was something I learned to treasure and that I still keep - that very same copy, 20 years later, sits on my desk at home - both as a reference and a reminder.
My hope is that the Constitutions that you have provided will play the same role in many of my students' lives”
I cannot properly explain the joy that your donation has brought to my students.
As you know, math is increasing in importance every day. The skills we practice in the classroom now are building a foundation that my students will need for the rest of their academic careers. It was a struggle to make math as enjoyable as possible for them, but now they jump at the chance to practice their skills. Math station time has become filled with laughter and learning. Even those who find math challenging are excitedly participating!
Thank you for helping my children find fun and excitement in learning mathematics. I will forever be grateful for your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ramirez

I just wanted to say thank your for helping to supply my students with an exciting and inviting dramatic play area. These materials have provided the space for my children to dramatize real situations that help my students have rich conversations, and it's REALLY fun! They love that many of the tools "really work". I can't tell you how many bird houses, pencil holders, and bookshelves my students have build for me in the past few weeks.
Not only has having this amazing construction zone really helped my children with special needs interact with their peers, parallel play, and build meaningful relationships, it is also helping them reach their language development goals. In addition to helping that specific group of students, engaging in these experiences has also helped my students who are just learning English improve because they are able to use their second language in a non-intimidating situation on a daily basis.
I just want to say THANK YOU one last time for your donation. You have truly helped make a difference in the education of my students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Heavey
