For a few years now, a few people at Monsanto's Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, the home of the World's Largest Mustache - the Gateway Arch, have donned the Labia Sebucula (Latin for "Lip Sweater) and participated in the annual Mustache March. No beards or goatees just the 'stache. Now we have a purpose. We are proudly participating in Mustaches for Kids. We must step up and grow for them what they are unable to do at such an early age. For the next four weeks, we will be subjecting ourselves to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor, we need your support. Please sponsor The Monstache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish us luck. • Let's Get Ready To Read!!!

    Funded Apr 16, 2010

I cannot thank you enough for your donation to our project. The students love to be able to use the langue master. They are able to review the sight words we are learning. They love to record their own voices reading the words.

Our district is experiencing a great budget crisis. There is no money for these extra supplies and technologies to assist us with reinforcing what we are teaching. Donors like you make it possible for my students to have some of the supplemental materials that really make a difference.

Again, I am so very grateful for your generosity and the help you have given my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Avenevoli

  • Novels for my 11th Grade English Class

    Funded Mar 27, 2010

Thank you so much for donating novels to my classroom! My first priority as a teacher is to ensure that my students are prepared for a college level class, and your donation brings us one step closer to that goal. Studying high-level literature (such as The Things They Carried) not only keeps my students engaged, but it provides them with a constant challenge.

I am so excited to have the chance to teach this novel to my students again, and I am even more excited to see them learn and grow as scholars and future college students.

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ivory

  • Helpful in Health

    Funded Apr 20, 2010

Thank you so much for your consideration in funding the "Helpful in Health Project." We appreciate your kindness and support. These highschool students are so motivated to get out in to the real world to practice direct patient care and the supplies we received will be a great chance for them to experience first hand equipment used today in the medical field. These student graduated on May 30th and 12 out of 15 have successfully completed the required studies and are now Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA's). They were so excited that some one thought enough of them to support their hard work and success. We always need people like you and owe all the gratitude we can offer.

    Sincere thanks

    Ms. K. S. ”

  • AP Students Need AP Study Guides

    Funded Mar 9, 2010

Thank you so much for contributing to this proposal! Your donations provided a huge library of AP Environmental Science Exam preparation materials. The flash cards, test preparation books, and practice exams were all used by my students as they prepared for the AP Environmental Science Exam.

After the exam, nearly all of my students told me how the questions and topics in the review materials appeared on the exam. This helped them to feel confident about their performance on the exam instead of second guessing their answers.

I will continue to use these resources for many years. I am already looking forward to next school year. I have come up with even more ways to integrate these review materials into my AP Environmental Science course.

Thank you again for your generosity. You are truly making a difference in the lives of students.”

  • The Achievement Gap is a Literacy Gap

    Funded Mar 3, 2010

Thank you all again for your incredibly generous support of my classroom. The books you helped to provide will allow us to help close the literacy gap in my classroom.

When the school year started, my students averaged a fourth grade reading level. They made significant strides forward this year, and this accomplishment not only helped them in my literacy and science classes, but will also help to propel them to greater success in the future.

It is a true honor to have your support as I work to close the achievement gap in my classroom. I am incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and friendship.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Kelly

  • You Read to Me, I'll Read to You

    Funded Mar 17, 2010

Thank you for your support and generosity in funding the "You Read to Me, I'll Read to You" project. Our second Family Literacy Event was a success. Students and parents had a wonderful time participating in the literacy activities. It has been a great pleasure to help build stronger relationships with parents and their children while promoting literacy. You truly made a difference in the lives of the children who benefited from your donation.

Thanks again for your generous support in our efforts to educate parents and promote a love for reading in our students.”

  • Comfortable Listening Center

    Funded Feb 25, 2010

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your donation to our classroom. The U.S. rug was such a wonderful enhancement to both the children's reading and social studies comprehension. They absolutely were thrilled to be able to have a comfortable space to settle down and read or do their work.

The headphone that were also part of the donation, were a great hit for the children to be able to have a listening center while others were at different centers. They would read along or laugh at a funny part so loud the rest of us would giggle, too! It gave them the opportunity to get over their fear of reading and actually enjoy reading.

Overall, your generous donation and kindness helped the children to understand that their education is important and that other people care about their futures. ”

  • Projecting Our Lessons To Reach Success

    Funded Mar 12, 2010

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching children. In math, it can be difficult just using paper and pencil to fully understand and learn the concepts. So by having a LCD projector to use is amazing. The students LOVE the technology.

The projector that you have funded will enable students to learn new concepts with innovative methods and enjoy technology at the same time. I now have the ability to use the endless amount of resources that are online. My students are already loving it and are more excited about the topics the struggle with most because of the technology. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you once again and we all, my students and I, truly appreciate your generosity. No words can express our gratitude. Thank you. ”

  • Enriching Our Learning in Math, Science and Reading, OH MY!

    Funded Feb 27, 2010

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom-- the impact that your contribution, small or large, has had on the students in my class has been tremendous! Undoubtedly, without your generosity, our classroom would not have received our new projector.

We have used the projector for many new activities-- we watch our calendar video, do our morning meeting via PowerPoint, use the interactive math games from our curriculum, and watch videos about science and reading things that we would not otherwise have access to. I have seen absolutely incredible growth in my students in both reading and math since we received our projector.

Without generosity like yours my students would be without a valuable resource, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Projecting Our College Dreams

    Funded Mar 20, 2010

I wanted to send a sincere thank you from both my students and myself. It is incredible the immediate change the projector has brought into my classroom. At the start of the year, my students scored an average of 50% on their unit assessments. I am now retesting them for mastery and I am proud to say they have consistently been scoring higher than 80% on all the review tests we have taken. I would like to attribute part of this success to the new technology you all graciously donated. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Each one of you have ensured more students will be reached in my classroom. The looks on my students' faces was priceless, amazed that random people from across the country cared enough to grant them with this saving grace. My hand writing is atrocious and at times my organizational skills are slacking; this projector was a quick fix to both of those problems. I am now able to lay out well organized notes that the students can actually read, and the benefits are extraordinary. I feel truly blessed to have people like you who cared enough to donate to my project. I want you to know your contributions do not go unnoticed and that you are making this world a better place. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher
