  • Help Us Understand Multiculturalism!!!!

    Funded Mar 26, 2008

Thank you so very much for you donation to my class. You don't know how important you have became to me and my students. I am already thinking about how to incorporate the materials. We have been hoping that someone would help us understand such a difficult but enriching topic such as "multiculturalism". Because of you my students will develop the understanding and knowledge to understand the heritage that made us who we are. Thank You so much and my students will thank you soon. Bless you always for thinking about the future of my students. A very happy kindergarten teacher!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera

  • Visual Aid for Second Language Learners

    Funded Mar 25, 2008

Thank you for your generous support of my classroom! All school year, my students and I have been hoping for a "real" projector screen and a nice rug. Now, teaching with the overhead projector or the in-focus projector will be much more convenient and spontaneous. I no longer will be using the white board as a screen, so I won't have to erase important notes and information that are written on the whiteboard.

We also have been making do with a discarded, raveling kindergarten rug. A fresh, new rug will create an inviting gathering place for students to listen to a story or move in close for a math lesson.

Your thoughtful gift is most appreciated, especially at this time of educational funding cuts. Thank you again for choosing to support a public school classroom.

    Yours Truly,

  • Multicultural TV: Giving Voice to Silenced Cultures

    Funded Jan 13, 2008

Thank you so very much for providing the monetary need to get this project off the ground. It is because of people like you that the world is a more beautiful, complete place. This project puts power back into the hands of many marginalized groups. I cannot wait to report back to you with incredible feedback!

Again, my students and I sincerely appreciate your gift!

    My Warmest Best Regards,

    Miss ”

  • Ethnic Studies Class In Need of a Class Set of Books

    Funded Dec 27, 2007

I am overjoyed (and a bit amazed, to tell you the truth) that you have decided to donate so generously to my classroom. These books are greatly needed and used for my classroom on a daily basis. While I was able to purchase a few for my fall students (it is a semester long class), the counselors have nearly doubled the number of students enrolled in my spring class and I would not have had enough books to cover each student. Nor would I have had enough money to fund them on my own, as I did in the fall. I truly appreciate your kind generosity, as do my students.

Once again, thank you so much. Your donation has been the best news I have received in a while and is a wonderful way to ring in the new year.

    Sincerely,

    Jamie ”

  • My Family Is From...

    Funded Nov 14, 2007

I just reviewed my pacing plans for the year wondering when my social studies unit on Family was set to begin. It follows our current science unit of Balance & Motion. We will start the Family unit in early January when students trace their family history through photographs, interviews and documents as well as compare and contrast their daily lives with their parents lives in their home countries. This amazing collection of resources will enhance our studies and I can't wait to get these items and begin sharing them with my students. Thank you!”

  • Books!!! Books!!! Books!!!

    Funded Oct 19, 2007

Thank you so much for your role in making it possible for my students to read this book! I can't wait to announce to them that our project has been funded. They are excited at the prospect of reading this book, and also at the prospect of having new books in a school where very little is new. I really appreciate the generosity and I know that my students will be ecstatic.

    Thank you,

  • Monterey Bay Aquarium Trip!

    Funded Oct 16, 2007

Wow! It was so great to find out that the proposal for our field trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium had been funded! I cannot wait to tell my students tomorrow about the great news. We had already scheduled the trip at the aquarium and have been hoping that we'd hear the good news that the transportation would be taken care of so we could go. 64 excited 6th graders will be headed to one of the best aquariums in the country thanks to you! I look forward to sending you pictures from the trip. Thanks again for your generosity”

  • Experiencing Asia Through Literature And Art

    Funded Oct 3, 2007

I would like to thank you for supporting me and my students through your generous donation. Because the majority of my students are reading years below their own grade level, they really need these resources to get them motivated about reading. All of the literature that I have selected is sure to engage them.

Thank you again, for making a difference in the lives of my students!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. ”
