Thank you so much for your generous donations. With your help our students got new fun instruments (they call them "toys") that they can use to deepen their musical skills and well as reading comprehension.
Students are able to use the instruments to illustrate the sounds in a story, thus getting a deeper understanding. Student are now able to make up their own sound stories and share them with the classmates.
The chimes, the thunder drum, rain sticks and frog guiro are probably their favorite instruments.

When the box of supplies first arrived to our classroom the students were incredibly eager to find out what it was that was in store for them. We had a class meeting and talked about the many different projects I had planned for them for the 2010-2011 school year. One of the projects they became most excited about was the one where they would become authors, illustrators and creators of stories conjured up in their minds. They were excited to begin but I explained to them that the writing process is one that takes lots of time and careful thought. For months the students worked diligently and after much thought it was finally time for them to take their stories and make books out of them. With that, I brought out the box of supplies that you all so generously had a part in bringing to us and we discussed DonorsChoose.org and the kind donors who made this activity come to life. The smiles quickly came to their faces as I opened the box and handed out the very special supplies they were to use to make their books. On behalf of my class I thank you for your kind donations and for your help in making our imaginations come to life.”
Without your generous donations I could not have brought this exciting unit of Aboriginal art to my students. The supplies purchased with your donations have made it possible for the students to have thick poster board, dowels in a variety of sizes, lots of colors of acrylic paint, paint trays with lids, and a wonderful array of Australian animal books..
The resulting projects from this lesson will be on display around the school and at our annual arts festival in town.

Even though Pre-K students are emergent readers, the materials you donated to us will help them have a strong foundation as they grow as readers. We love to make all kinds of class books, and they love to draw and cut all kinds of paper. Thank you so much for your generosity and your support. It has taken a while but we are now up and running with our Drum Line. It has been very exciting. The students have shown their enthusiasm as they looked forward to getting started. We will continue to procure more drums as the number of students wanting to join the drum-line far exceeds our current supply.
The students who have joined are students who needed to become more connected and successful at school. They are already showing improvement in behavior and attitude as they have a strong desire to remain on drum-line.
Thank you so much for your generous donation. I regret that I have been late in responding to your gift. Due to education budget cuts and lower enrollment in our district I was not able to keep my job as a teacher. I have recently been hired for another district and we are assembling the parts necessary for the students to use the drum set. I know that my students are going to truly benefit from having the opportunity to learn more about music and especially PERCUSSION. Your help and support is making a difference in the lives of my students.”
Your donation has made an ongoing difference in my classroom. The children use the classroom set of markers often and have made crafts with the other materials. Some we have yet to use!
Even at the first grade level, we are pushed to teach to future tests and while it is important that children learn needed skills, they still need to every opportunity explore their own creativity. There's always a sigh of relief and a tingle of excitement when the art supplies come out!

Thank-you so much for your generosity towards my students and my music program at my school. We are a low income school and the current unemployment rate has hit our students' families very hard. The pencil sharpener works really well, and the students are still amazed that it only takes 4 seconds for them to sharpen their pencil.
This device helps keep the room cleaner because students are not using little manual pencil sharpeners that leave shavings everywhere. It also is increasing the amount of instruction time because of how fast it sharpens the pencils. Thank-you so much for your generosity.
Please continue to support this wonderful website in helping deliver needed resources to our countries schools. The donations from people like you have greatly impacted my teaching on a daily basis. We use the books not only for their initial intent – to doodle, but we also use them to practice new drawing techniques, for homework assignments, to take notes, for quizzes, and for brainstorming all their creative ideas.
