Thank you so much for donating to my project. With your help and gratitude my class received a variety of writing supplies. We received journals, white boards, white board markers, erasers, and a stamp, draw & write story center. With these supplies my students are developing into young writers and learning to write sentences and stories. My students love having their very own journal and we write in them every day. Over the past few weeks their writing has improved greatly. The students also enjoy using these supplies during center time to create their own stories and practice their writing. We are also incorporating the use of Math journals into our Math lessons. The students really like this!
Teachers are limited to the amount of money they get to spend in their classrooms. Without your help my students would not have these supplies to work with. Having these supplies has made writing fun and exciting for my students. Thank you so much for your generosity!”
Thank you so very much for your support of this classroom project! Having the Nooks in my classroom has proven to be very exciting and challenging. It has spurred a love for reading in my classroom, but the kids are competing with each other to be able to finish their work first in order to read more! It's a win-win for sure!
The Nooks combine books and technology which the students are craving now. They love being in the class with all the newest gadgets. Our classroom has become quite the popular place to be. In fact, students are asking to stay inside during recess so they can read on the Nooks.
Thanks again for your support for our project. It certainly has made a difference with my students. ”
Thank you so very much for your donation to our project. We received three sets of tradebooks. Having the tradebooks makes history much more interesting. We have learned so much about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Sacagawea.
The students have read the books, completed reports for each, and I have been amazed to watch them make connection between what they read in the novels to what we are studying in class.
It is heartwarming to know there are companies who are invested in our students. Thank you again for your kindness and willingness to help in my classroom. ”
This school year has been such a roller coaster for me, but your generosity has helped to ease the transition and provided valuable reading resources for my students. Thank you so much for choosing our project. The Weekly Reader magazines have allowed my students to practice their non-fiction comprehension in the classroom as well as take home reading material to share with their families. The Mark Twain nominee books have enriched our class library selections. As a class, we've been reading Captain Nobody, and they LOVE it! It's so fun to see them get excited about listening to reading and sharing my love fore reading with them. The library labels have helped my students to make connections between the different genres and keep their library organized. Because of your generous donation, you are responsible for sharing books with my students; sharing books and sharing love go hand in hand. Thank for you for partnering with us and caring about my students.”
Thank you again for giving recorders to my students to be more successful in my music class.
It was so wonderful to be able to start every student at the same time! I didn't have to wait weeks
for the students to purchase recorders at the bookstore, and this solved the problem for so many students that never had the money. Everybody started equal. My classes have really enjoyed learning the recorder, and are excited to earn colored yarn tassels to put on the bottom of their recorders for playing a song in front of the class. Many have already earned 4 different colors! I had
a group of about 25 from 2 classes that played for the Awards Program, they were beaming afterwords. One of the 4th grade teachers told me afterward that they were, "Impressive", and
the students told me after the program, " We rocked!". THANK YOU!!! ”
I want to thank you for the classroom items you helped provide for the students with which I work. This note is only a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The organizers that you donated have helped my students every week! They have helped students from kindergarten, first, second and third grades.
The students in our school are facing so many obstacles this year-a devastating tornado, loss of their school building and for many the loss of their family's home. So many things have been completely out of control, but you helped bring order to this corner of their lives.”
The gift you provided has made the students at Los Osos so excited about our classroom activities! While we will ultimately use the camcorders in various projects, they have already started on a multimedia, multiperspective poem based on Wallace Stevens's poem, "Thirtheen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird." Students in another class are using them to videotape speeches they will deliver so that they can view themselves critically and make adjustments before their actual presentations. The cam corders are easy to use, but are having powerful impact on students feeling inspired, empowered and intellectually engaged.
Thank you all so much for your donations to my hands- on project "Magnetic Minds Attract
Learning". With your funding, the supplies we needed to explore magnetism have become a reality!
It was so exciting to watch the children as they investigated with the bar magnets from the Discovery Kits. Their eyes lit up as they saw the magnetic field of the iron filings around the poles of the magnets from the window kits. They squeeled with joy , when they discovered they could make their paperclip butterfly fly without the magnet touching the clip.
They loved testing the forces of the different kinds of magnets through various centers. They discovered that magnets can attract objects through paper, plastic, wood and water. They learned that objects made of iron and steel are attracted to magnets and that each magnet has a north and south pole. We were even able to tie magents into our compass lessons in Social Studies too. You helped to make learning about magnets so much fun this year!
My class and I thank you again for your all your support ”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by Lakeshore Learning and 9 other donors.
Thank you so much for your generosity. We have been overwhelmed by the support and care that has been shown to us. I love being able to use these kits, books, and other resources when teaching about ideas that happened so long ago. The children love listening to the different literature and looking through the kits. We just finished using the Native American Resource Kit for our unit on the Creek and Cherokee. The children loved the examples that our kit had to show them like the canoe, totem pole, and feathers. They also practiced Native American dances using the wrist and ankle bells. Thank you again for allowing me to bring these historical experiences directly to them. ”
Thank you so much for being so generous and giving to my classroom project. I was able to purchase many different hands on activities for science and social studies. We use these material daily. The students love getting their hands on these material and I love seeing their faces light up when they get to experience the joy of learning something new.
With all of the furlough days in our county, us teachers are not able to put the same amount of our money into our classroom as we are use to doing. Our county is also not able to provide us with any extra resources for our students.
Without donors like you, it would be impossible for our students to get to experience the kind of hands learning that you are providing them with these vital resources.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Parramore
