I want to thank you so much for funding my project. I know my students will be excited to have the materials to learn about science. I think that I can really bring these science topics to life with the use of these kits. I will be able to use these kits every year. I am looking forward to receiving these kits and getting started. My students and I greatly appreciate what you have done for us.

I hope the excitement that the tap shoes brought to my classroom shows through in the pictures.  I have never seen so many kids eager to try on a pair of shoes in my life.  My students cherish those shoes, not just for the shoes, but the meaning behind them.  To my students those shoes prove that there are people who care, who support them and who want to see them improve and grow.    These shoes have opened up a whole world to my students.  As I introduced tap dancing to them they learned about black history, rhythm and music and of course dance.

My boys (believe it or not) were more excited than my girls.  Once the boys got the shoes on for the first time, I had to pry them off.  These boys finally found an outlet for their extra energy. My girls were much more timid with the shoes, but after a few minutes, they caught up.

Unfortunately, we are a year round school so we went off track a few days after we received the shoes.  The students were very disappointed to leave their shoes for a month-but they proudly labeled their shoe boxes with their names.  This will definitely give them something to look forward to when they come back to school.

Thank you so much for giving my students a reason to believe that there are still great people in the world and that nothing is ever too big to work towards.  They will never forget this!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sturm
