I would like to thank you so much for your generosity. My students needed the supplies for the school year, so many of them didn't have the summer they wanted and most of the them helped their parents with supporting their homes financially. The summer of 2021 was unique and different like no other before but with your help and support of school supplies I was able to help them, not just my students but several other kids from other teachers. I was very happy to the smiling faces when they saw the materials they were going to be able to use!! High school students/kids are too cool to show emotions but not this time, they were so grateful of the gift to start the year with a productive smile .
Thank you to all donors who give and share to help out our student to improve and grow into adulthoo. Thank you for being part of our "Village" as teachers, coaches, mentors, volunteers and donors. Thank you for stepping up, your gift/donation allowed me to teach with confindence knowing that my students had the supplies they needed to be productive in the classroom.
One of my students is/was a newcomer to the states, and he was very thankful that it brought tears to his face. He was overwhelmed with job because his family didn't have enough money for school supplies. He felt a little more confident coming to class and worked hard to learn English and Algebra at the same time and for that I am thankfull to Donors Choose. Thank you for everything!!”
I cannot tell you how excited our students were to receive the research kits. We were able to have a pick up day for our virtual students so they had it at home and were fully engaged in the project. Our plants sprouted in a matter of 4-5 days. Students observed, measured, compared, and most importantly, asked lots of questions. We created a chart to track our previous knowledge, what they wanted to learn, the lessons learned, and further inquiries. Unfortunately, many of our plants got sick. But for our students this was fascinating. They researched and identified the sickness as powdery mildew. They were also able to find solutions and we tested them. The plants that were replanted and moved outside survived, grew, and blossomed.
Our students have had a wonderful time and had ample opportunities to apply the scientific method, research, write, and talk about their plants.
We thank you for your generosity and the support you give to public education.”

A.J. Briesemeister Middle School students have greatly benefitted from the snacks provided through your generous donation. Many of our students struggle to have their basic needs met outside of school. By having an abundance of snacks in the room students are able to fuel their minds when they are hungry. This in turn allows students to focus in class rather than on their stomach's needs.
Some students were also able to take a bag of snacks home to provide sustenance while home over the weekend. Breakfast and lunch are provided for all students while at school, Monday through Friday each week. However, not all students have access to consistent meals over the weekends, while home. Snack bags were to help meet those needs over weekends and breaks.
Student will continue to benefit from easy access to food while at campus. Having a great selection of healthy snacks has helped students reach out when hungry, to help fuel their learning.”
I cannot thank you enough for supporting my students in this discovery of hydroponics systems. I introduced the topic when we covered photosynthesis and cellular respiration, and then had a discussion about algal blooms. After researching and discussing algal booms the students were asked to propose ways to reduce agricultural leeching. They proposed very interesting ideas and discussed the pros and cons of each. As part of the discussion I introduced the idea of hydroponics and explained how they work. The students were very excited to "plant" seeds and have been monitoring their growth since.
The wonderful thing about the hydroponic systems you helped me bring to the classroom, is that previous students, teachers and administrators are drawn into the classroom because they see something they are not familiar with, and my students love explaining what we are doing and how we are using them. They are becoming ambassadors of alternative and sustainable ways of growing healthy foods.
When we come back from the winter break, we will start using the second rack to grow vegetables and herbs to donate to our community, and see as fundraisers for our biology and sustainability club. The kiddos are very excited about the future plans.”

Who would have known there would be a technology shortage? During this school year I had to depend on technology for my entire career as a teacher. My students had to hear and see their teacher in order to recieve their lessons for the day. Our students are able to submit assignments through tecnology and learning to read with many different digital resources. This project has not only helped my students to hear the lessons, but students are able to see their lessons on their screens. I want to thank you for giving my class hope that we are going to make it through this school year no matter the circumstances.”

First let me thank you all from the bottom of my heart for supporting my project "Exploring Diverse Voices in History". The racial reckoning that was sparked by the death of George Floyd prompted me to begin to plan more diverse voices into the standard state history curriculum to help my students see themselves in history. My motto is "Representation matters!". In order to relate to history students need to see the success and struggles of their ancestors.
With your generous donations I purchased a license for Near Pod which allows my students to go through a lesson at their own pace or as a whole group. Since we are still virtual, with only a few students who attend school face to face, Near Pod has allowed me to create lessons that are accessible to everyone even when they can not attend their regularly scheduled class. Near Pod also has some very well structured lessons that my students have enjoyed investigating. At Thanksgiving we explored the myths and facts that surround the holiday. For many of my students this was the first time they learned the impact of the arriving Europeans on the Wampanoag of the region. Before the Winter Break my AP US History students began a series of lessons focused on people they should know from the Civil War. The students had a great discussion of Frederick Douglass' Narrative and a comparative of the lives of Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Tubman. I ordered additional books for our class library but being virtual, students can not borrow books. I can't wait for the day I can spread out my books and allow my students to explore history through alternate texts.
Again thank you for your generous donations. Words cannot express how this project has impacted my online teaching.”

All the supplies were shared among the in-person and virtual students. We use them during our whole group and small group activities. Since all the students have the same manipulatives, every time we have a counting, sorting or patterning activity, is easy for students just to pull out their materials to work with.
For independent work, students have been assigned different materials according to their levels. For example, a student who has difficulty counting works with a 1-10 number puzzle, whereas a student that count o 10, works with 1-20 puzzle, students that know how to count to 20 work with a 1-30 puzzles. The students are very motivated to work independently. What they see as playing, I see it as being engaged in learning.
The materials that you have funded have enable students to engage in the lessons and are allowing me to individualize my instruction according to the student's needs.
I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations!!”

Thank you for the many snacks donated to my classroom. The parents, students and I are thrilled for the support you have given us in the classroom through your generous donations.
The students enjoyed eating a variety of snacks during their virtual period. Most are face to face students now. I loved the way they got so excited when they receive their snacks. I love the smiles your awesome support has brought to their faces.
The snacks have helped parents out a bit. That is all owed to you my special donors! God bless you for your kind hearts!
My student and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Thank you for contributing to these young ladies’ educational adventure. Your gift will make virtual learning an exciting experience for the 2020-2021 school year. Flocabulary will broaden their horizon and introduce them to a world of academic excursions. Because of your generosity their journey through this difficult school year will be one with many academic feats.”

I'm blown away by your generosity! With all the stress of starting school in these trying times, your support is a huge boost. As I write lesson plans and wrestle with my colleagues to figure out how to engage our students, one thing we know is that great literature is key. I know our students will be delighted to be able to see themselves in these wonderful books.
THANK YOU!”
