It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. I hope you like the pictures of us showing our appreciation. Can you see the joys in our eyes? We wish you all were here in the classroom so we could thank you in person and give you each a big warm hug. Our hearts are filled with love now because we know that there are so many people who care for us. The wonderful gifts such as comfortable rocking chairs, squishy seat cushions, scented shoulder snakes, and flexible scissors did wonders.
The soft and awesome-looking chairs have kept most students at the classroom library reading quietly while others working in groups. The movable seat cushions have assisted some pupils who could not stay seated feeling contended. Oh and the grape-smelling shoulder snakes have calmed and put adequate pressure on the shoulders of those who needing them the most. We no longer have students who cried due to scissors' frustrations. They are so versatile that both left handed and right handed users could handle them easily. Even the one with fine motor skills problem is now welcoming more challenging cutting projects.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We wish you all a better future just like the one that we are now encountered.

Mrs. Trinh
This classroom project was brought to life by The Eisner Foundation and 12 other donors.
My students and I would like to once again send you a great big "Thank You" for the leveled reader books that we received through Donors Choose. I wish you could have witnessed the excitement on their faces when the books arrived. The books that we received have sparked a renewed interest in reading. I now have students volunteering to be the reader of the day. Prior to receiving the books from Donors Choose, I would have plead with the students to sign up to be a reader for the day.
The leveled readers that we received appeal to all students. Students, regardless of their ability level, are able to pick up a book and read independently. The books have been a wonderful asset to our classroom library. Furthermore, students are reading books by new authors and are asking to read more books by the same author. The books are of various genres and fit in well with our content standards.
Once again ,my students and I would like to thank you for contributing to Donors Choose. You have sparked a renewed interest in my students that seemed to be missing, ”
Thank you so much for your more than generous donation to my class. The books that you've donated are a fabulous addition to my students learning. The children are now able to read books that are appropriate to their specific reading levels. With all the great books that we now have in our reading library the students are constantly asking to read whenever there is a free moment. Teaching young children to read has always been a passion of mine and now that we have great age appropriate books this is possible. Thank you!”
Thank you so much for donating the trampoline and scoop set to our program for students with autism. The trampoline is a huge hit. We have it set up in our program office and when students get disregulated (start to have a hard time being still or focusing) they can ask for a quick trip up to "get their wiggles out". It's a great way for them to get back on track so they can focus in class.
They also love bringing their friends from other classes up for a trampoline break. The students will play games like 20 questions while they bounce. It's a fun way for our students to experience relationship building with their peers.
We are also loving the scoops. One way we've used them is to tell scoop stories in our social skills group, passing the ball to each other while adding lines to a story being told orally. The visual cue of the ball is a great way for students to know where to pay attention in the group and they get practice with their gross motor skills as well. They also love using them at recess time with their friends.
Your generosity means so much, thanks for making caring about our very special students.”
I can not thank you enough for your generous donation to our special program. All of the ink and paper has already made such a difference. The boys are more relaxed knowing they can effectively research and print their work in a timely manner.
Before you generously donated the resources we desperately needed, we were sending extra work home so the boys could get their work done on time. This added stress to their already stressful day in regards to their disability. Now thankfully, we can get work done in class and that added stress is gone.
Once again I can't thank you enough, it means a great deal to myself and my class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Semey
