Your Help is Needed to Help with an Enriching and Inviting Kindergarten Classroom Due to the small confines of my kindergarten classroom and much needed updating of some furniture type materials, I am writing this request. When our corporation went to full day and I came to my current school, the classroom did not have much in it except what I brought or what people cast out. Many of my shelves to organize things are pretty flimsy and have been repaired many times and are on the way to becoming unusable. I am looking for funds that will allow me to update many of the items I currently have and also provide my classroom with many of the items I don’t have that will help my kindergarten learners both in learning and learning environment. There are three major needs that I am requesting and they are expensive but well worth the request I am making. I am adding a fourth request but it is only to further help the students with more enriching materials. The first thing I would love to have for my classroom is a carpet that encourages learning with the use of letters and numbers. These carpets can make the environment feel more inviting and can be used to enhance learning skills. The carpet makes an inviting space for many activities that the children gather for such as calendar, read aloud stories, and group lessons. With your donation, you will make it possible for the students to gather together as a group in an inviting space to take part in many activities. The cost to supply the classroom with this type of rug would be $551.99, which includes shipping for any materials requested. The second request would be for items to help with the organization of our writing workshop in kindergarten. The writing process in kindergarten goes through many stages from drawing to eventually writing words and stories. I would like to have a place to house the organization of the children’s writing things so that they can be able to access their own materials when they are writing. This gives them ownership and allows many children to access these materials on their own when they have extra time or are finished early with other projects. The cost to fund this part with shipping and materials would be $495.00. The third thing that I would like to request is a special writing center area for my students to go and be their own authors and create their own books. This special area will allow children to feel important in their writing space during centers and literacy workstations. This space will allow 2 students and possibly 3 to work together at the station using many different materials that will be housed in the center to foster creativity. My project needs are a writing center for partners to go and create small books or stories. This writing center has places for materials all within reach of the students. The cost of this proposal is $504, which includes shipping for any materials requested. You can make this all possible by providing the "Writers of Tomorrow" with all of the tools needed in one organized center. Your donation will be a great asset to our classroom by sparking creativity and encouraging our students to become better writers and/or illustrators. Thank you for your consideration! The fourth request that I am making is not really a designated amount because I am sure that I can put any money donated to use for this request. I want to purchase items that will further enrich my classroom. Some items that are really needed are items that can be used in our literacy workstations such as learning games, puzzles, materials to use such as manipulatives and even different mediums to use in writing and drawing. There are many items in this category that would be very beneficial. The items range in cost from as little as $9.99 to $49.99 per individual item(not including shipping and handling) and there are many items that fall in between these price ranges and there are many items that could be used to benefit my students and make learning fun and engaging. I have numerous items that would fall into this category in varying price ranges but any donations would help to acquire some of these materials. Any help with any of these donation requests would be greatly appreciated by me, my students and their families and future students and their families.
