Words can't describe how thrilled my students were when they received the digital camera that you helped fund for our classroom. They have already started to read novels so they can record commercials about their books. They are also really excited because we are going to take it with us on our field trip so we can create a video of all the wonderful things we learn on our trip.
It is truly amazing that unmotivated children become eager to read, just knowing they can use the video camera when they are done with their book. The best thing is they learn to love reading throughout the process!
Many of our students don't come from homes that have resources available, such as video cameras, so this has been a new and exciting experiment for them. We have even passed on your generosity and have shared the camera among all of the classes in our school.
