  • Take Home Math Facts Practice

    Funded Dec 23, 2008

Thank you so much for funding our project! I am very excited to start the New Year off with the new materials. It will be great to get the students excited about practicing their math facts at a time when they need it the most. Sometimes by this time of the school year they get discouraged and bored. The math facts take home sets will get all of us re-energized. I have never used DonorsChoose.org before and am so excited and thrilled to have such a successful outcome. I was listening to NPR just yesterday and DonorsChoose.org was mentioned; what a great coincidence. Again, thank you so much! I can hardly wait to get the materials. I know the children and their parents will be so appreciative.

    Sincerely,

    Lesli”

  • See Math, Feel Math, Learn Math

    Funded Dec 24, 2008

Thank you so much for funding my DonorsChoose.org project requesting graphing calculators. What a wonderful Christmas gift. My students will be so glad to have the calculators. Just before Christmas break all of the classes used the calculators that I have along with a motion sensor to get a "feel" for graphing. These calculators are very easy for the students to use, and they can put more teeth into some of the math concepts they have been taught. I also just had a fourteen year old student, who hopes to become an engineer, test into Calculus in college, in part because of the few calculators that I have that he has used in class and with me to learn more about math. Thanks again for your donation. The calculators will be well used for many years to come”

    With gratitude,

  • Scientific Calculators-Class Set

    Funded Dec 1, 2008

Thanks to your generous support, every student is now able to take a complex calculation from start to finish in chemistry while also developing their overall understanding of simple and complex math operations. Furthermore, 30 more students will now be able to prepare for and take the ACT with a proper calculator, allowing for those students to compete on a similar level as the more affluent students of this nation.

Once again, thank you for your spirit of generosity and commitment to funding public education in this country”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. G.

  • Building Our Band Library

    Funded Dec 16, 2008

On behalf of our instrumental music students and myself, I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous donation to our Band Library. Proper storage and cataloging of our existing titles, as well as the prudent purchasing of additional music, are vital to our continued success as a musical organization.

Economic times being what they are, I know that this donation comes not only from your love of children and music, but the importance you place on education in general. It's people like you who show their appreciation in such a direct way who keep morale high for the teachers "in the trenches."

Again, my instrumental music students thank you and I most assuredly thank you. Best wishes for a holiday season that fulfills all your dreams and a prosperous New Year”

    With gratitude,

  • Music Students Need Resources at Low Income School!

    Funded Dec 15, 2008

This is such a wonderful surprise. The best present a teacher could want right around the holidays. I just wanted to send out a sincere thank you for your funding for my students. I know we are going to have a great time with the resources DonorsChoose is providing by your generous donation. As soon as school starts again, we will be working with the rhythm sticks and beginning to learn basic music theory. The rhythm books along with the rhythm stick CDs will be used to learn such things. Again, thank you and happy holidays”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. M.

  • Classroom Books Sets

    Funded Nov 19, 2008

Thank you for funding dictionaries for my students! It makes me feel good to know that there are generous people in this world who are willing to provide assistance to children who need educational materials. These dictionaries will help improve the vocabularies and writing skills of my students. They will be able to look up words and complete their vocabulary homework with out a problem. Again, I thank you. I know that my students will be happy, too.
