It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. Thank you so much for the extremely generous donation you made to my class this year. The books you purchased by several celebrated children's authors have made quite an impact on my students reading abilities and reading enjoyment. I have bins full of the books you purchased and everyday my students ask if they can choose one of these special books to read during our independent reading time. They love all of the authors for different reasons and having the books available to them has opened their minds and hearts to literature. A telling moment came the other day when a special education student who could not read a word upon entering my class chose "The Very Hungry Catepillar" by Eric Carle to read in its entirety to me. Their excitement and love for these books has improved their academic proficiency this year and given them a solid foundation in literature. Thank you for supporting my students.”
Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. The LeapFrog books have been a tremendous addition to our library. My students are able to use them on their own during workshop and center time. It has become one of their favorite activities due to the wonderful selection of books. Many of the books are classics that my students were unaware of but are now becoming quite fond of. It is so exciting to see them engaged and excited about reading a new book. My students and I thank you very much for you generosity!”
I can not thank you all enough. My students have really enjoyed the books and pillows. They have been able to read more quality books and increase their reading levels because of their access to more of a variety of books in our classroom library. The pillows have also helped my students enjoy reading in various places around the room.
So I just wanted to say thank you again and my students and I really appreciate the donation. They are taking full advantage of the wonderful library you all have helped me build for my students.”
Since receiving the LCD projector for my classroom, I have brought 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students on a visual trip to six of the seven continents. The 8th grade students have seen and learned about masks from the past and present created by different cultures all around the world. They are currently creating their own masks. The students are each making two masks. Each mask will show a different emotion. The 6th and 7th grade students have taken a journey through time, experiencing early to contemporary abstract art and portraiture from around the world. The art spans all the way from Native American art to Dutch, to contemporary art from Taiwan. Every project from now on will be able to be explored more deeply. The social, cultural, and aesthetic qualities will be investigated. Student work is already showing greater depth and meaning after viewing the way other people have created similar pieces of art. This is a very exciting time in my classroom. The students look forward to the topic of art history and have wonderful insights into the art of the past.
Thank you so much for your donation to help fund this project. You have truly helped a dream come alive. The students are excited every time they see the projector set up because they know that they will get to see something and experience artwork that they have never seen before. Visual learning is important in every subject. Art is certainly no exception. The visual process is critical to art and the information that I can present now leads to more enriching discussions as well as student artwork. I really can't thank all of you enough for helping to fund this project.
Thank you again for your help and donations in funding this project. You have truly made a big difference in the education of many students for years to come.
I really appreciate the funding you have put forth for my class to be able to obtain a new classroom carpet. Having a new rug is a joy to not only me but the students. It creates a better learning environment and allows the class to be more comfortable on a new, comfortable and clean rug.
Before receiving the new carpet you thankfully helped the class receive, I would tape squares onto the old carpet for the students to be able to sit in. This was distracting because students would often pick at the tape and it left the carpet dingy looking. Seeing the children's faces when the new rug was put down was great. They were so excited to not have to sit in a taped square anymore but to have their very own square already on the new rug.
With the new carpet, the class can now comfortably sit on the carpet to hear stories, read, and complete work. The students and I both thank you very much in making our classroom a better and more comfortable place to learn. ”
I am so excited and anxious to use these materials to enhance the education of the students. Thank you so much for your donations and more importantly your time and thoughts toward education. It is amazing how some basic materials can make the kids feel special and excited about their education.
You would not believe how excited and invested the kids get in mathematics when they are all using the boards. It takes away the need to scramble for pencils, paper and more importantly to keep track of everything. We can instantly analyze a problem and get immediate feedback as to where the students need assistance. I truly appreciate your giving to our children and investing on their education.”
With gratitude,
Teacher
