It is with mixed emotions that I’ll be shaving off my beard in participation of this year’s Mustaches for Kids growing season. I have to shave it all off in preparing my upper lip for its sophomore voyage into whisker awkwardness. My face forces a smile downward at the thought of losing its warmish tenant in exchange of his (my beard’s) thick accented cousin, el moustachio. (Cue the mariachis.) (Let’s just hope that in a month I don’t look like John Waters.) In order to justify this endeavor I need your support.
