The donations you made have had such a wonderful impact on our guitar students. We were constantly running out of picks and strings, our old guitar cables were shot, and there was no place to store the steel string guitars where they could be easily reached. Your donations helped us keep a thriving program strong. Guitar is very important to the students at our school and they anxiously await 3rd grade so that they can get their hands on them. Former students have gone on to perform in bands and middle school ensembles. One of our current students, a fourth grader, has just joined his first rock band. Thank you for your contributions!”
Thank you for your sincere generosity and support to my Donors Choose project. I received my order and began using my books and guitars. My students are especially enjoying playing new instruments and are more motivated because of them. I have concert performances at the end of this month and these instruments will be featured at these performances and many after.
Additionally, I am very grateful that people like yourselves have decided to donate to projects like mine in this uncertain economy. You all deserve a round of applause for your commitment to helping teachers like me reach students with new materials.
Thank you again and I wish you all the best in the future.
I am very grateful to all of you for donating four more high-quality, three-quarter size guitars to our general music classroom! My elementary music students will be using the guitars throughout course of the school year. The students will be playing the guitars on our upcoming concerts that feature the folk music of America, and the students will be using the guitars later in the school year to play many other types of music, such as holiday music and the blues.
Your generosity has made it possible for more students to be able to play guitars at the same time in my general music classroom, which is very exciting for the students! They are completely intruiged with playing the guitar, and the students really enjoy being able to play comfortably on the child-sized guitars that fit their smaller hands. My students will be able to continue building their guitar-playing skills, such as plucking melodies and strumming harmonies, as specified in the National Standard for Music #2, "Performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music". Similarly, my students will be able to use the guitars that you have provided for us to improvise melodies, variations, and accompaniments (National Standard for Music #3), as well as to compose their own music (National Standard for Music #4).
We are very appreciative of your thoughtfulness and of your support for musical learning in our school! ”
Just a note to say thank you for helping the music program at our elementary school. The new ukulele bags protect the instruments and provide an easy and safe way to transport the ukuleles for school concerts. The old cardboard boxes that the ukuleles were in had been coming apart and there was a risk of damaging the ukuleles. Now the ukuleles are safe in the new black, vinyl bags.
The students also feel very proud when they carry their ukulele in the vinyl bag. Our school has many low-income students, and giving positive self-esteem to these students is very important in today's world. With donors like you, students can feel good and make music, too!
Once again, I personally would like to thank you for the donations to help with our music program. It is greatly appreciated.”
First off, I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to visit donorschoose.org and give your support to classrooms in need. In these times, where schools are losing funding, and music programs all over the country are rapidly disappearing, your generosity is appreciated more than you will ever know. While our students are very fortunate to get a quality music education, you have given them the even greater gift of learning how to play a musical instrument, and we are forever grateful.
As you can probably see through the photos attached, my students were absolutely thrilled to receive the new guitars, strings, picks, and gig bags. They had a great time opening up all of the boxes, and could not wait to put their guitars in the gig bags and strap them on their backs. It was so fun to see how excited they were to receive this wonderful gift--they couldn't stop smiling and, as you can see, were walking around the room like "rock stars."
Thank you again for your generous donations and for putting these smiles on my students faces!”
WOW! I can't believe we did it. Thank you so much!!!!!! This gift will help my students focus on something that is pure, technical, and fun: MUSIC! It will improve my students' concentration and patience. It will motivate my students to come to school.Without your help, this would never have happened. Further thank-yous will be coming your way, but for the time being, just know that this means more to my students than you will ever imagine. ”
With gratitude,
Mr. Taruskin
