It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. Ever since the arrival of the carpet, my children and I have felt more at home than we ever had before. I am so grateful that you have helped make our vision come true. Without you, my children would still be cramped and uncomfortable doing something that they love to do; read! This addition to my classroom will bring so much joy for years to come. It is bright and colorful; it makes such a beautiful difference then our bare floor.I cannot wait to open that first read aloud in September to the new kindergarten and have them enjoy their own "spot to park" for reading.”
Thanks so much for your very kind and generous donation to my classroom. The white board was used every day. The board was used for daily information, assignments, and note taking. The lack of board space in my room has been a problem for the last five years! What a valuable tool with two sides as well as being portable.
The school is old and has a lack of board space as well as damaged and worn out black boards. The white board was a great solution to this problem in my classroom. This is a tool that will be used for many years. The board allowed flexibility, usefulness, and a sense of pride in my classroom! Very seldom, if at all, are we able to get new products or materials for our classrooms.
With donors like yourselves, you help many classrooms and students in major and small cities and all areas of the United States. Please keep up your valuable work for students and schools”
With gratitude,

Thank you so much for your generous donation of books for our classroom library! When I announced to my students that we had received a gift of new books and read them the titles, they were pestering me daily until they came. Once they arrived, I had student clawing for the new books! It was difficult to decide which students should get the books first, however, what a wonderful dilemma to have!
Your donation made my students so excited to come to class daily for our twice-a-day DEAR (drop everything and read) period. In the past, I had many students-usually the boys--who would grumble about book choice and do homework instead of read. Now, I have all of my boys reading, and many of the girls are clamoring after the books as well. They have enjoyed the mystery novels, sports books, and dramas and are asking for new titles daily.
It is amazing how the simple act of reading can dramatically raise reading levels. With your generous gift I know that my students are well on their way to growing their reading levels two plus years this school year-- which is our goal. Thank you so much for your support. My students and myself appreciate it more than you know.”
Thank you so much for your most generous donation to my class. We are using the group learning table for small group instructions for literacy, math, science and art. It is essential for students with learning disabilities to be able to receive small group instruction to enhance their overall learning experience.
Being a teacher in an urban school, it is often very difficult to receive new materials like a group table. The cost may not be surmountable to others but when it comes to books and other learning materials, group learning tables are pushed in the background. Once again, thank you for your donation!”
Thank you all so much for your help and support. I can't even begin to tell you the changes I have seen in my classroom in such a short time. My children are now arguing over which literacy center they want to go in, when before I had to push them to choose any of them. Not only are they arguing over the centers, they even ask to use them during their free time in the afternoons.
The leveled readers we received are working wonders for my students who were improving yet where at a stand still because I didn't have enough of the proper books to take them further. Some of my students are now reading on a second grade level in kindergarten!
All the other materials we have gotten such as our classroom news, and sight word charts and cards have become a part of our daily routine in which the children and myself enjoy greatly!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous donation to this project. Some of the equipment is still on back-order, so my students are anxiously awaiting it's arrival. This WII gaming system will give my students a chance to be creative and have some fun in music class. The WII music game will reinforce many of the music concepts we learn in class. Many of my students have never played the WII before and are so appreciative of the opportunity to learn how it works. They really couldn't believe that people would donate so much money for them to have something to use in school. It was a great conversation about how people help each other out. So, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share that lesson with them. Thank you again for being so generous!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Engelhard
