  • Loud and Clear! Amp & Mic the Music Room!

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for making the "Loud and Clear! Amp & Mic the Music Room" project possible! I already sent out individual thank you messages a while ago, but wanted to make sure they definitely go out here just in case.

I'm using the mic and the amplifier with absolutely every class that does music. It tremendously helps with all the students playing music or singing, and hearing me well. Honestly, I don't know how I'd be teaching without this setup! The students think the microphone is the coolest thing ever and really enjoy when I use it, be it with the keyboards, the ukuleles, the xylophones, or the singing. With the new amplifier, playing audio at a good volume through the big speakers also contributes to music class becoming something special for the students.

I'm excited about future improvements for the music program at Arleta, and am thankful that you're making this classroom be a place where students want and love to be.”

  • Let's Get Moving!

    Funded Dec 6, 2021

The students are using the cart and that being there favorite job when we have indoor recess. The love to bring the hopscotch rug out and set up are bowling pins with the corresponding numbers.

The students were absolutely overjoyed they love that they can now push a cart with all the toys they get to play with. The scooters are the students favorite toys.

Our next step is to get a storage bench area set up. That way that they can sit and have a place to put all of their sensory items in one place or even there morning tub bins in there.”

  • Help Me Bring Color to My Class!

    Funded Oct 13, 2020

The use of color in schools is very important. Being able to see things in a variety of colors helps my students better remember concepts and ideas. The students love the newly printed color cards and are always eager to be first to get the colored cards. The student and I want to thank your for all of your support. • Outdoor Learning Fun

    Funded Oct 15, 2020

Thank you for helping me bring this project to life! My students were so excited to use materials we received from this Donors Choose project!

This year, our days in school look so very different than in the past. Because of your generous donations, children are able to have flexible seating that is able to go outside in the warmer weather. The seating allows the kids to pack their things into the bucket and we head outside to continue our learning. The microphone has allowed us to sit at a safe distance and hear each other. Being able to have enough materials for children to use in a socially distanced way has helped our classroom create the "rug time" outside. !

These materials will continued to be used throughout our year together. Thank you so much for providing my students with these opportunities."”

  • Two for One!

    Funded Oct 12, 2020

First, let me tell you what a difference teaching online is to kindergarten students compared to face to face. This has been a very trying year. I am not able to check to see if they are on the right page, holding a pencil correctly or even doing the work. It has definitely been a challenge, but one that has made me stronger and more computer savvy!

The second monitor that I received from the help of you has helped tremendously. I can see the joy of the students dancing along while presenting to them. While watching videos, I am able to pull up the next learning videos or check emails and not disturb the students.

The generous support towards teachers is amazing! We missed our students last spring, and now I see them on screen. Teaching has changed and teachers continue to rise to the challenges! We love support and appreciate all that Donor's Choose has done to support us. Thank you to all the donors!”

  • Awesome Osmos!

    Funded Oct 15, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom project, "Awesome Osmo". The students were so excited when we were able to pull out the new tools and put them to use. We use the stands and all three games during our small group time.

My students have really enjoyed the "Wordscapes" game. This game is designed to encourage students to hear specific sounds in words. Once they isolate the sound they need, the student can move the letter tile in front of the camera on the iPad. Our students have loved feeling the success when they get a letter correct. Some have even leveled up and can now spell entire words!

I have loved hearing the joy that my students have when they use the Osmo materials. We truly love them!”

  • 2020 Election

    Funded Oct 12, 2020

Thank you for your donations to help my students learn about the voting process in the US. As we were learning about the process the students were very interested in it. We then started to recieve the different packages they grew even more excited. As they saw what was inside they could not wait to begin our project. The students learned that it was their right to vote so we decided to create posters to encourage people to vote. The students eagerly created their posters and we displayed them to share. The money was spent on supplies that will not only help us for this project but will continue to help us throughout the year! We thank you all for your generous support.”

  • Creating Art in a Healthy Room!

    Funded Aug 26, 2020

My students appreciate working in a safe clean environment. It is important that each student feels safe to come to school and trusts that the teacher has their safety as an upmost concern. There are many places that students do not feel safe and school should always feel like a safe place to go to with teachers providing a secure clean place for every student to work in.

When the students come into my art room they know that the tables have been sanitized, all equipment that they use has been cleaned and is ready for them to use without the fear of getting germs.

I have two HEPA filtration units in the class placed so that the air is filtered clean. The windows remain open and the air can come in and go through the HEPA filters and produce germ free air into the classroom. My students understand that I have their safety as my number one concern during this pandemic.”
