  • Bound For Adventure!

    Funded May 3, 2010

I'd like to thank you so much for your donations for our projects - my students create so many neat things with cardstock. This year, we made Egypt Museum books, Life Cycle Flipbooks, journals, Autobiographies, story books, and weather guides. The students get a kick out of using our spiral binding machine and making tools for studying. In our writing lessons and in our writing center, students can create their own books from stories they write. They have written autobiographies this year and even a recipe book. We appreciate the cardstock so much. We even used some in our class yearbooks that we just finished. Check out the pictures from that project on donors choose. They really turned out well. I had just depleted my supply of cardstock so your donation came just in time to finish the year up. It will help me start the new year's projects off with no delay and that's so important to me. Thanks again and we'll send you a sample of our projects!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mcmillian

  • We're Stepping Into Reading!

    Funded Feb 12, 2010

Thank you so much for supporting our busy classroom with Step into Reading books. These books have brought so much joy to our students. Because this series is based on growing readers, there are books that reach every child in my classroom.

I have a little boy in my room who struggles to read. Often times, language arts is the time he just "shuts down" and cries. However, your gift has provided him with books he is excited to read. Better yet, he is able to read them!

All of the books have been a huge hit with my students regardless of the level or contents. Thank you for giving my students both this year and for many years to come the gift of books! You have touched a child.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cronk

  • Calling All Word Detectives!

    Funded Feb 13, 2010

This note is to thank you for the wonderful word study materials. My class would not have been able to progress as far as they have without your generosity. These materials are fun to use and make learning all about words exciting.

I wish everyone of you could visit our class and see the way the children have progressed through the year because of your donation. Every child has become a better reader, writer, and speller because we have been able to spend quality time with word study. I , honestly, have never had a class that has learned so much in such a short time!

Your kindness and thoughtfulness is truly appreciated. Just know that your contributions have made a tremendous difference in the world of education for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Easley

  • Traveling With TIME

    Funded Feb 14, 2010

Thank you so much for your donations to help my class with their reading skills. Due to it being late in the school year, Time For Kids has decided to wait until next year to fulfill our subscription so that we receive a full year of magazines. We did have some samples mailed to us that the students were able to view. However, my class next year will truly get to utilize the magazine and take a journey. I am already planning how to use the magazines such as for author's purpose, context clues, and fact/opinion. I can't wait to use them in small groups and allow discussion to occur about the happenings in the world.

We are so thankful for your generosity and I know my class next year will be just as excited as this class was at the potential to have their own magazines and learn about other places. Enjoy the photos! They love to have their pictures taken.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Steigleman

  • NCLB: No CAPS Left Behind

    Funded Jan 19, 2010

I can't thank you enough for your generosity! I'm so excited about doing this project with my students.

They have seen the thousands of caps accumulating in my classroom and have a new awareness of how much waste there really is out there. I hope that this project will teach the students and others how they can take "waste" and turn it into something beautiful!

I look forward to sharing photos of our completed courtyard beautification!! ”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher
