Funded Oct 11, 2009Thank you for your generous donation toward the cost of our trip to Williamsburg. Thanks to you, we were able to take 50 students to the colonial village. It was so important for the students to be able to visualize life in colonial America—something that before seemed foreign and abstract. Their eyes lit up as they imagined using an outhouse, spending evenings without television, and traveling on horse and buggy.
As we left the colonial wig shop, a student who would never cop to the fact that something at school could be fun, exclaimed "This is cool!" His friend turned to him and replied, "Yeah, it was." I know that these and other memories from the trip will stand out in the children's recollections of their fourth grade year. Thank you for making that moment and so many other moments possible. ”
