  • Math in Action: Math in the Amusement Park

    Funded Dec 19, 2008

Thank you so much! Every year we go to Great Adventure on Physics Day and the students have a great time riding the roller coasters. Now we will have the opportunity to build the roller coasters before we go on the trip. This will make the trip a real educational hands-on experience. The students will have a great time building the roller coasters and will also gain some insight into the design of the roller coasters. Thanks again! This is a wonderful opportunity for my math honor society students. It will enable them to understand and appreciate some of the mathematical and scientific principles involved in roller coaster design”

  • Help My Students Display Their Amazing Artwork!

    Funded Dec 12, 2008

I'm new to DonorsChoose, and had heard great things, but nothing prepared me for my excitement when I opened my email and saw that my project had been funded! I have been telling my students since last year about my desire to have a real art show for them, with proper displays - and I know it will make their day to find out that we have received such a wonderful gift. Thank you so much for being a part of such a wonderful organization and for taking the time to read my proposal! I'm looking forward to my students artwork on the new display.

    Sincerely,

    Sharon ”

  • Learning What's Unique About Your Culture Through Art!

    Funded Dec 22, 2008

Thank you so much for donating your time and money to support the arts in education. It has really been tight at my school because of recent budget cuts. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will help my students as they continue to strive and learn as artists. My students will be very excited to hear the good news when we return from our Winter break. Thanks again, especially in times like these, for digging a little deeper to help others in need. Happy Holidays, and we cannot wait to get started on our new projects!!!

    Sincerely, Jennife”

  • Feeling Like Authors!

    Funded Nov 27, 2008

I want to thank you for your donation to my proposal "Feeling Like Authors!" These supplies will be used to enhance my teaching and the learning of my students. Both my students and I work very hard in developing their craft as writers, and these supplies will allow my students to be proud of their hard work! My students' families don't have the financial means to support this aspect of learning, but your donation has made it possible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! My student will now feel like published authors! Thanks to you”

  • Let's Get Ready for Third Grade - Science

    Funded Dec 19, 2008

Thank you so much. What fantastic news, and just before my students leave for winter break. They absolutely love science and are so excited to be receiving such wonderful resources. They can't wait to tackle the owl pellets and are already begging me to have a classroom sleepover so we can use the telescope. Thank you again. You have made my students and me very happy.

  • Learning through Acting!

    Funded Dec 2, 2008

Thank you so much for your donation and support! My students will be so excited to use these materials. By role-playing with hats and puppets, they will be so much more engaged in both science and social studies. Because of you, my tactile and kinesthetic learners will be able to better understand the content of both, and all of my students will have fun while learning! It also makes teaching even more fun for me! I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity!!”

  • Starting an Eco-Art Program.

    Funded Dec 13, 2008

Thanks to everyone who donated to help fund the eco-art program at Sky Islands! I realize that times are tough right now, which only makes your generosity all the more meaningful. Art education, unfortunately, is often the first program to feel the effects of a struggling economy. But we all know that it is in art class that students make lasting connections between subjects, themselves and the world around them.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. And be prepared for letters from our students as well!!

    Happy Holidays”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher
