I want to take this time to personally thank you for your help in funding one of my classroom projects. Without help from donors like you, I would not be able to do so many wonderful projects with my students like the one you helped fund. I try to bring fun and excitement to the classroom with hands-on experiences, but sometimes I am unable to do this without help.

It was wonderful to see the excitement on my students' faces watching them enjoy the animals in the classroom. They loved watching the caterpillars grow and shed their skin and after some time and patience become beautiful butterflies. Watching the tadpoles start out as tiny fish and begin to grow bigger and grow front legs, back legs, and finally losing their tails was great! They helped feed them and change their water weekly. I feel this really helped them understand the care that it takes to have an animal. It has inspired many of them to ask their parents for pets. I don't know how the parents feel about that, but I think it is great.

Not only has this experience brought them a hands-on experience to the lifecycle of certain animals it has taught them a love for nature. It has been great to watch my students become more caring for the environment around them and living things. I feel you helped mold them into better human beings for allowing them this opportunity. You have been a thumbprint on their lives. Thank you so much for this opportunity. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Randle

  • Hatching Young Scientists!

    Funded Mar 24, 2010

I can't thank you enough for the amazing gift that you very generously provided for our classroom. The children learned about incubation, habitat, oviporous animals and animal life cycles in a way that will stay with them forever. Students made predictions about what would hatch out of the eggs, charted and graphed the number of days the eggs were in the incubator and enjoyed reading many fiction and non fiction books about eggs hatching!

The most incredible part of this project happened when the children heard "peeps" coming from the incubator and knew that hatching would take place within days of those sweet "peeps"! I am so pleased to tell you that the children were able to actually watch eight out of the twelve eggs hatch right before their very eyes! This amazing experience will stay with them forever and would not have been possible without your donation.

After hatching, the children nurtured, fed, watered and cleaned up after our new friends. We observed and charted the chicks growth over two weeks. They were able to see the chicks change and grow over time. Each chick went home to a very loving family!

Once again, thank you. This experience has made a huge impact on my students. Please know that every year a new group of students will benefit from the incubator!”

  • Machu Picchu and Beyond

    Funded Nov 26, 2009

Thank you for supporting my efforts to bring relevance to the study of World History. The maps have been extremely helpful in visually representing the history of the Middle East and the Meditertranean regions. The maps have connected this history to help the students understand the war in Afghanhistan, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and the conflict between Shiites and Sunnis. My students had no knowledge of the geographic connections between what happened in ancient times and what is happening today. They now understand that political boundaries are not stagnant. They are more aware of the forces that can change boundaries and nations. They now have background knowledge from which to build an understanding of their modern world.

Thank you for caring and contributing to public education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Morgan
