Thank you so much for your generous donation. The books have been a light of sunshine in my student's lives. They are so addicted to the mythology, graphic novels, fairy tale books, and it is a pleasure to see them so engaged. The books have been shared by 3 classes and every child has found something they really enjoy reading. Our school, with many others across the country are facing ridiculous budget cuts, and without your help they would not get the opportunity to read such great literature.”
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your generous donations towards my "Reading is Devilishly Fun" library project. Being able to add books to our classroom library that students are actually interested in picking up has been exciting. Over the three years that I've been teaching, my classroom library has grown from being filled with books that I find interesting to being filled with books that students find interesting, and that evolution has been at the center of the evolution in literacy focus in my classroom.
I continue to be in awe of the number of book signouts I have on my library checkout sheet. I've gone through ten pages of library sign outs in one semester! Students are constantly asking me if certain books have been checked back in so that they can get their hands on them. The most popular ones are constantly checked out!
Just the other day, a student came to me and asked me to help her select a book. She said "I don't really like reading much, but with you having us read every day in class, I want to start looking for books that might interest me so I can get into it." That comment alone meant the world to me and reminded me why I continue to insist that students read as much as possible as often as possible. With all of the negative criticism the American education system receives, it is great to know that one approach can remain the heartbeat of successful students - increased literacy.
Thank you for allowing to grow my classroom library.”
Thank you so much for your generosity towards our students and their needs. Our school, community, students, and families truly appreciate your kindness with your donation. It is always so exciting to know that there are strangers that care so much about the students, their learning, and success. We face and work on our challenges and embrace our strengths.
It is difficult for us to access and purchase new and supplemental materials for these special students to utilize and learn with. It is also very difficult to maintain materials that all of our students with varying needs can access and manipulate. We meet a wide range abilities and needs, but we do our best.
Thank you so much again for your thoughts and donations.”
Apologies first for the tardiness of this impact letter; as the year has drawn on I have in no way intended to leave you out of the loop on the progress that has occurred as a result of your generous donations. In the face of budget freezes and the plethora of circumstances that our students square off against every day, they were assured the resources they needed for tests, worksheets, and daily activities. As a result, they have learned and thrived, including students aspiring to go to college today who, only eight months ago, never felt that it was an option.
We are still plugging away in April and the paper has lasted into the home stretch of Chemistry. It has served as a daily reminder of how much you believe in the students we teach, and though you will also see it in their forthcoming thank you letters, I don't hesitate to mention that it really means the world to us. Your gift has made a better education possible, a gift impossible to quantify specifically because of its quintessential importance. On behalf of all of us, thank you for all that you have done here; it is truly making a difference. ”
With gratitude,
Mr. Karp

I would like to formally thank you for your generosity and kindness. We just love having an HP touchscreen monitor for our classroom computer! The computer is no longer a struggle and center of frustration, but a window to the ever growing world of technology that surrounds every student throughout their educational careers. Our students no longer have to watch their general education peers have all of the fun playing the computer games while they are stuck attempting to figure out the concept of moving and clicking the mouse.
I sincerely thank you for helping close the achievement gap between our general and special education students.”

Thank you so much for donating to our bean bag project! My students are so excited about our new bean bags and hopscotch carpet. They were addition superstars today, as they selected two bean bags (with numbers on them) and then added them together. When they had the correct answer, they were able to throw the bean bags into the basket. The dots on each number bean bag really helped some students add the two numbers together. Our next step is to add three of the bean bag numbers together. The shape and color bean bags are fantastic, as well. Thank you all so much for making a difference in my classroom!”
It has been about six months since I received your gift from donors choose and it continues to help my class daily! I use the paper to give my students homework and to make practice pages for classwork. I've also been so thankful to have extra paper to be able to make fun educational activities for my students.
With budget constraints my school no longer has art class. My third graders all love to draw and are extremely creative. I've been able to create reading and math lessons that allow them to draw without worrying about wasting all of my paper. These lessons are much more enjoyable for them and make it much more likely for them to retain what I'm teaching them.
Thank you so much for all of your help. My students and my entire school are so thankful.”

My staff and I are unbelievably grateful for all of your generosity. The laminating sheets and Velcro that you paid for are already making an impact on my students' ability to learn. Creating interactive materials give my students the opportunity to learn through their strengths: visually and kinesthetically.
I personally appreciate your willingness to give of yourselves for no other reason than to be helpful! Without people like you, my students, as well as others, would be struggling. Thank you so much!!!”
Your donations have helped my students learn English in a fun way. When the puppets first arrived, we had so much fun exploring them. We made the rule that if a student had a puppet on their hand, they had to use English. Then as we learned about people in the community, we were able to puppets for more than just playing. As time has gone on, they have become my students favorite things to use for readers theaters and play time.
My students have just been retested in English and all of them have had great improvement. In fact one of my students progressed from pre-emergent (lowest) to proficient! He loves playing with the puppets!
I thank you for your donation. The puppets have been a valuable teaching and learning tool for my students! ”
First off, I want to start by telling you all about the wonderful change Tears of a Tiger has brought to my students. Students that I have been trying to get interested in reading all year long are begging to keep reading this book. In fact, the first day we read the novel, I had many students attempt to read ahead. Finally, these students are engaged in a book, and I could not be happier!
Secondly, I want to tell you just how much I have been able to cover with this novel. Almost all of our standards are covered in this novel, and it is a very creative and interesting way to teach them for the students. Primarily, we have focused on making inferences and predictions, as well as summarizing. My students are also interacting with some essential questions, that not only teach them the standards, but teach them about life. I feel as if I am teaching them the most valuable information I can.
Because of these things, I cannot thank you enough for your donation to my classroom. It is truly a gift that will keep on giving. Because of this novel, I have been about to teach my students so much about the value of learning and reading, the knowledge they are expected to know and the creativity it takes to analyze a text. Again, thank you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Haus
