  • Cheers for Our Peers 2025

    Funded Dec 14, 2024

โ˜€๏ธ It was a beautiful day for our LEUSD Games, and our fifth graders had a marvelous time cheering for their peers yesterday!

Last week, students from each of our four, fifth grade classes gathered, and each student chose one of our athletes to create a poster for with the new paint you provided. ๐ŸŽจ

Many thanks to you for making this event even more special with your generosity! Because of YOU, each fifth grade fan was able to have a visor and pom pom in school colors, and one of our SPED teachers told me it brought tears to her eyes when she looked up in the stands and saw us cheering for her kids. I was so proud of my students, and their enthusiasm and cheers for their peers!

Thanks to you, I was also able to provide my kids with water and snacks throughout the day, and as the temperature soared above 80 degrees, everyone was able to stay hydrated and fueled. A special thank you to Kindness Rocks for featuring our project, and to Teresa Morris for making the final donation that took our project across the finish line. I am so grateful for each of you who made this event extra special and memorable for our children. ๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ’•โ€

  • Starting Off Our School Year on the Right Foot!

    Funded Jul 15, 2022

Thank you so much for helping create a space full of love and laughter. Your donations have helped create a space that is inviting and kid friendly. The students beam with looking at their class bulletin boards and locker names.

You also have allowed for my students to have equity in supplies with take home folders, pencils, and glue. Our student body has a variety of socioeconomic student body. Now all students can feel at peace at home. You truly are helping my classroom feel like a complete family!โ€

  • Using LEGOs To Build STEM Skills

    Funded Aug 17, 2024

Our students made a great showing at their first ever FLL competition, showcasing their newly developed computational thinking, presentation and collaboration skills.

The competition consisted of three parts. The team built and programmed a LEGO robot to complete missions for points. They researched real-world problems, including interviewing an expert, related to aquatic ecosystems to present an innovation project. The third part required the team to present their engineering process in building their LEGO robot. Throughout the season, we focused on FLL Core values of discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun!

Thanks to our generous donors, students expanded their STEM knowledge through engaging, hands-on activities. This would not have been possible without the funding of our LEGO Spike kits. Thank you donors for making this possible.โ€

  • Kindness Club Ambassadors

    Funded Dec 13, 2024

Our kindness ambassadors were thrilled when they saw the supplies to create their own personalized and decorated caps. Some of them adopted the abbreviation KC, to represent Kindness Club.

These supplies and activity provided our kindness club members to make connections and get to know each other better, since they were collectively thinking, expressing and creating similar messages together.

They painted and drew positive uplifting messages and used symbols to convey kindness to others in order to create a positive environment at school.โ€

  • School Librarian: Lifelong Learner

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you for helping me renew my membership to several national organizations that will help ensure I am the best rural school librarian possible for my students. Being a member of ALA (American Library Association), AASL (American Association of School Librarians), and YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) has provided me regular programming ideas (including the monthly LitCrate subscription service and visual book list display), collaborative lesson plan ideas, and book reviews for additional library purchases.

I just registered for my first national ALA conference in Philadelphia this summer! This will help not only my rural high school students, but ALL Missouri students--I'll be serving as the President of the Missouri Association of School Librarians throughout the 25-26 school year. What's even more exciting is that the national AASL conference is in Missouri this fall--as the host state's President, I will be addressing all attendees during the Opening General Session and Keynote.โ€

  • Learning Through Collaborative Groups and Centers

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom.

With your donation I was able to create an inclusive learning environment for all of my students. When using the vertical boards, students are more brave to make mistakes knowing that they are learning from their peers. I found that having my students work in collaborative groups they each bring their individual ideas and work together. It is nice to see them working through the task assigned as well as problem solve together when struggle. The pencil pouches, zipper pouches, sheet protectors, and dry erase pockets are all great supplies that help my students stay organized during the school day as well as at home.

Thank you again for donating to our class project!โ€

  • Boost Focus! Wanted: Sensory Fidgets!

    Funded Dec 23, 2024

I am incredibly grateful to each of you generous donors who made it possible for our classroom to receive much-needed headphones and earbuds. Your thoughtful contributions are already making a tremendous difference in my students' learning experiences. These devices allow my students to focus on their work without distractions, engage more deeply with audio-based materials, and access educational resources more effectively. Your support is an investment in their education, and we cannot thank you enough for helping create an environment that enhances their growth and success.

Thanks to your kindness, my students are better equipped to navigate the challenges of learning, both in and outside the classroom. The gift of these headphones and earbuds will undoubtedly help them engage more meaningfully with their classwork, especially in this digital age. Your generosity not only supports their academic journey but also encourages them to strive for excellence. We are sincerely thankful for your continued support and commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of my students.โ€

  • The Time is Now!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for helping my classroom!

We have been using our Time for Kids subscription to improve our non-fiction reading comprehension AND learn about the world around us. Since winter break, we have been spending a lot more time with TFK and learning about the world around us!

Since my project was fully funded, as always, I encourage you to find a school in an area you care about and make a donation to a random project. New teachers and those working in public schools do not get enough credit for the personal investment and sacrifice they make to better their students' lives.โ€

  • Engaging Materials for Dynamic Speech Therapy: Help My Students Thrive!

    Funded Nov 23, 2024

We've been incorporating the new resources in various ways to support our speech and language goals. One memorable classroom project involved using the markers, books, and games in a storytelling activity. I introduced a book that featured various characters and settings. The students were tasked with drawing their own characters and then using the markers to create different scenes. This activity helped the students work on their narrative skills, such as sequencing events, using descriptive language, and building sentences. The games also added a fun, interactive element, allowing the students to practice turn-taking and using specific language targets in a relaxed, engaging way. All of my students are very appreciative of the materials, especially Beware of the Bear! This could not have been possible without your support.โ€

  • Wobble On in 7th Grade Classroom Music

    Funded Sep 11, 2024

My apologies for a delayed thank you -- but rest assured, we are more than grateful to you for your generous flexible seating option for my 7th grade general classroom music students! By the time my students arrive at their 3rd period class, they have already been sitting pretty consistently in two of their core classes for upwards of 90 minutes. Having the option to "wobble on" in stools instead of another hard chair (in the general music room, we actually use chairs that are the same as the posture-correcting chairs necessary for success in band or orchestra settings) during class time. When completing independent work, many students enjoy having the stools to sit on, which actually has started to increase their productivity. In fact, some of my other music colleagues have begun to use them for their classes in the classroom music setting, including for some of our life skills students. To say that you have made an impact on my students' ability to succeed with this gift is an understatement. We cannot thank you enough!โ€
