It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the paper you donated to the classroom. I cannot think of a better supply for an early childhood classroom. It seems so simple. However, it is something that is used every day, brightens the classroom, and helps teach the skills required in preschool.
There is not a day that goes by, that the children do not use the paper you have supplied. It is such a great feeling to know the answer when a child asks, "Do we have more paper?' With the budget crisis the way it is, even small supplies such as paper are not easy to come by, especially bright, pretty, and hearty card-stock paper!
The paper has been used for Thank you Cards, Mother's Day, class books, get well soon cards for children that are absent, art projects, and just yesterday children decided to write to the principal to get permission for a garden! Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness.
We are forever indebted to you and will always remember your support!”
I can't thank you enough for providing my students with these materials which have been a benefit on many levels. My students who are focused and self-motivated have already seen a difference in their ability to decode new words, and have strengthened their vocabulary levels by utilizing "Let's Read". I have had students proudly tell me that they are already on lesson "#" in their books and that they are practicing everyday. Other students might not be as focused, but are obviously pleased to have a book in their possession that they can keep. Some of these students are embarrassed by their lack of skill in reading. However, I gently remind them that the book can be used at home for them to practice. All of my students are able to perform in this book at their particular lesson/level with minimum struggle. I like to remind them that they will improve if they practice because each lesson adds just a little more difficulty. I also use my copy at school to monitor their progress and to determine the appropriate lesson for practice. I have also encouraged other teachers to utilize this book for their struggling readers. Thanks again to all of the the donors to this very worthwhile cause!”

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! With your help, I was able to purchase a classroom set of Dry Erase Markers, a Color Changing Board, a Draw and Write Board, and Tactile Letters. My students love these items and ask for them daily!
Many of my students do not enjoy tracing and writing activities because they are so difficult. However, when I put a dry erase marker in my students' hands, they not only show off their artistic talents, but they actually enjoy practicing their letters! All of my students love feeling the sandpaper texture of the tactile letters, and they have a lot of fun making crayon rubbings, too!
Thank you so much for helping my classroom. In these tough economic times, it is hard for my school district to give money to every classroom. Now my classroom is stocked with enjoyable activities and materials, all thanks to donors like you!”
Let me start by saying your generosity has made 29 first and second graders ecstatic for Math everyday. There is not a day that goes by where my students don't beg me to play the math games that your donations helped purchase. My students love these games so much they even play with them during indoor recess.
During our math period, we have used these games to strengthen the skills we are learning. The Time Match game has increased my students' knowledge of reading and writing time. Students not only can read a digital clock, but also an analog clock as well. Also, the fraction game has provided my advanced first graders a chance to get a head start on reading and writing fractions. It is amazing to see how a fun board game can make such a difference.
With your donations, I was also able to purchase coins, addition and subtraction mats, and a "Guess My Number" Pocket Chart. The coins are used daily for warm-up. Students are learning their coins faster and being able to identify them quicker just by having the plastic coins in front of them. The addition and subtraction mats have really made an impact on my below grade level students as well as my special needs students. By being able to use and manipulate objects, my students who tend to fall behind, are keeping up because they practice their addition and subtraction at least three times a week with these mats. Finally, the "Guess My Number" Pocket Chart gives me the opportunity to challenge both my first and second graders at the same time.
All of these materials have given my students the opportunity to challenge themselves, and learn math skills in a fun way. My goal of this project was to provide my students with materials that would give them the chance to have a blast while learning math, and that is exactly what has happened. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and thoughtfulness. ”
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your contribution to my classroom. As a result of your generosity, some of my struggling students have made huge gains in the areas of phonics, reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. The Radius Interactive Reading System has helped my students to work independently at their instructional level, and has been a wonderful tool that I use daily to differentiate my instruction.
I thank you for your continual support in our efforts to ensure that all students in this country have an equal chance at quality education. ”
My students were thrilled with the resources arrived! They have been using the thesauruses to improve their writing abilities. We are getting ready to take our ISATS and they love using them to add interesting words! We are also working on using synonyms throughout our curriculum. Using the thesauruses helps my students find synonyms and use them in everyday language.
I am also using the reading comprehension and vocabulary resource books to add activities that will help them understand what they read and new vocabulary better. They enjoy doing the end of the unit activities in the reading comprehension book.
Thanks again for donating to my classroom. It was very thoughtful of you! You will never know how much I really appreciate it. The kids as well!”
Thank you for your generous donations! My students have begun using the calculators in Consumer Math, Transition to College Math, Algebra II and Chemistry. The students are eager to learn and become more familiar with the functions on the calculator. The students in my consumer math class took a quiz on some of the calculator functions. They all received As. These calculators have already begun to open up the world of math for some of my students that struggle with different concepts. While they are still learning to compute by hand they are now able to check their answer which allows them to work more independently.
The students in my Consumer Math class have starting learning how to keep a check register as well as calculate weekly wages. With access to calculators the students are more easily able to compute real life examples. Throughout the semester students will prepare budgets that will help them to be successful in college and life after high school. Your help has made learning these essential skills possible for my students.
Thank you so much for the calculators. These calculators seem like such a little thing but has made such a huge impact. We have just started the stoichiometry unit in chemistry and I can not imagine not having this set. I will say at the beginning of class, "If you do not have a calculator I want you to grab one so you can follow along in class. So grab one of the donors choose ones" and students will get out of their chairs and grab one. Then when I give my evil teacher glare even more students will take a calculator. Learning then can take place.
Some students had no means to having a calculator. I simply did not have enough to go around. You changed that. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. Your funds will help put students within reach of opportunities that will revolutionize their futures. As a recent college grad, I realize how important it is that my students have a college education. We're really making a push to get students excited and prepared for this big jump. Your funds are absolutely necessary to make my classroom a functional and productive environment. The resources you fund both directly and indirectly make it possible to push students towards success.
This year has been incredibly challenging. 100% of the students in one of my classes are below the poverty line. 5 students are homeless, 50% have some sort of emotional or behavioral disorder, and many are years behind in reading and math. It's been very hard to get these students to see how important school is in their lives. On our last exam however, students scored nearly 75% on overall objectives. This showed me that students could and would take hold of opportunities if presented in a positive and supportive way. These students have become and extremely important part of my life. Their success is incredibly personal and significant for me.
One of my students started out the year pretty poorly and behind grade level. She was having issues at home with her parents and was dealing with some relationship abuse issues with her boyfriend. She did not perform well on our first exam. I asked her to meet me in the library to discuss how we could improve her scores. She started regularly visiting me in the library for tutoring and to discuss issues she was having at home. Her scores began to improve. In fact, she became a leader in our class. She is someone that other students look to for help. She is incredibly talented in analyzing information and has a talent for science. On our final exam, she scored the highest grade overall in all of my classes. She had a near perfect score of 98%. When I told her how her hard work had paid off she lit up. A smile stretched ear to ear on her face. It was truly a wonderful experience to be her teacher at this moment. I will never forget how success, that she was responsible for, changed her perspective and confidence in herself.
Your donation allows me to have moments like these. The resources and training your funds support allow my students to have opportunities to grown and succeed. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and kindness. There are hundreds of stories I could share with you, hundreds of tiny moments that have affected my students' lives, and you are forever a part of that. ”

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. The books and accompanying cds that you donated are used by my students daily. They have been used to allow my students to read age appropriate materials and learn how to share their ideas with same age peers. Because of your donation, my students are once again excited about reading.
Our school, like many others across the nation is facing a budget shortfall. Without your help, my students would not have been able to get these resources. The materials you provided have also encouraged others to look at what the students can accomplish and consider purchasing additional materials as the budget allows. Without donors like you, my students would not have had this opportunity.
Thank you again so much for your generosity!!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lorenz
