A Bigger Picture of Learning for College Bound Students!

Funded Dec 14, 2009

I just wanted to personally thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. Teaching in a low-income, inter-city high school presents its own challenges. But it is through individuals such as you that education can be equalized for these young men and women. I cannot even begin to tell you what a tremendous impact this document camera has had on my students in the classroom. Through this piece of equipment my students are better able to connect to their learning through technology. Because so many of them are interested in the world of technology this product has allowed them to be more engaged in daily lessons and procedures within my classroom.

Teaching has been the most rewarding experience in my life thus far. My students have inspired me to work tirelessly to improve the education system. I continue to do everything in my power to ensure that my students have a bright and successful future. It is my belief that technology will allow students to understand the future of their own education and the impact it can have on their own lives. It has not only helped me in organizing my classroom but it has allowed for more efficient classroom procedures that have enabled me to focus on the students more and ensure that they are grasping the concepts being discussed. I know that this will allow my students to flourish in the future and move on to bigger and better things.

These students feel as though no one cares about them. Year after year, they are given old worn out pieces of equipment that make them feel worthless. When they were given a brand new piece of technology that others in the school are lacking they felt as though they were important. My students are extremely important to me and you allowed them to see this in themselves.

Thank you again for your donation. Students for years to come will appreciate the generous gift that you have given to our classroom. It is through individuals like you that the education system of Oakland can continue to have the same resources as schools in higher end communities. My students and I appreciate everything that you have given to us. Thank you again. ”

With gratitude,

Ms. Howard
