There are few people more important to a parent than their child's teacher. This is especially true for military families, especially with a parent deployed. The projects listed here have been created by individual teachers with students from military families. Find one or more that you find worthy of support and make a difference.
  • Science Is Electrifying!

    Funded Sep 1, 2010

I cannot tell you what a wonderful addition the Snap Circuits sets were to my electricity unit! The experiments outlined in the booklets gave my students multiple examples of how circuits work. The experiments were so motivating that students begged to use the sets whenever they had a free minute. Usually the computers in my room are the things students like to use the most. I have a schedule so that every student can use the computer once a week. However, since introducing the Snap Circuits, many students are asking if they can work with those instead of taking their turn on the computer! You have NO idea how amazing that is!

We just finished the electricity unit, and the students truly seem to have a deeper understanding of the concepts and terminology than in years past. I really think it is due to their work with the Snap Circuits. After all, there is a limit to how much can be learned with just a battery, a couple of wires, and a bulb (which is what the district gives us).

Thank you so much for caring about my students! You are truly wonderful people!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Powers

  • Military Time

    Funded Sep 17, 2010

Thank you for supporting public education. My students absolutely LOVE their new classroom calendar system. Each day we work on making a pattern, counting money, telling time, and several other skills. The students enjoy reviewing all of these skills briefly each morning. I think the daily spiral review is going to be very beneficial to the students. We are also enjoying the Mountain Language and Mountain Math charts that we received. These charts also help the students receive a spiral review of essential skills each day. We are very thankful for your generosity.”

  • Inspire Little Troopers to Read with the iPod Touch

    Funded Jul 29, 2010

Thank you very much for putting the world at the touch of my students' fingertips with the gift of iPods. The kids are crazy for learning with our new tools! They whisper to each other about the books they were reading. The difference is amazing. You can bet that there will be more science videos, interactive applications, and math reviews in our classroom. We use our iPods everyday.

For some of my students, our new digital library allows them to approach a basket of books without fear of failure for the very first time. They do not have to be afraid that they can't take the ride with the book of their choice. All students are able to access quality literature and embark on new adventures with the technology. It means the world to them.

Thank you for continuing to help our classroom. We are starting our year with such engaging materials. Thank you! ”

  • Bringing The Civil War To Life!

    Funded Dec 7, 2008

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students are already excited about the project, and I can't wait to begin. My 7th graders get a huge thrill just from seeing their work posted on the bulletin board, so I can't even imagine how proud they will be when we turn their hard work into a publication.

Donors like you make it possible for teachers to reach students who have gone without the educational privileges they deserve for years. Thank you again for making it possible for my students to get the resources they need”

  • Panther Angels - Blankets of Hope

    Funded Dec 21, 2008

The words "thank-you" seem so trivial in response to your generosity. We just received two e-mails from soldiers receiving our blankets over the holidays. Those e-mails placed a giant smile on the faces and hearts of my students and myself. We feel we have contributed to making another person smile as well. Thank you for your help and donation.

  • Mathematicians

    Funded Jan 28, 2008

What a joy it is to read that my proposal had been funded. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to add enrichment activities to my student's daily routine. I like very much that I've been given a chance to educate my students in a way that is not new to them with the materials from your donation. Your kindness and thoughtfulness is very appreciated”

  • Electrifying Learning!

    Funded Nov 28, 2007

Thank yo so much for your generous funding of my "Electrifying Learning" proposal. I know the children will construct wonderful doll houses which will demonstrate their newly acquired scientific skills and knowledge on circuitry. Without your funding, I could not have made this unit of study real and meaningful! Thanks so very much!”

    With gratitude,
