As a first year rookie, it is my honor to be a participant in Mustaches for kids. If all grows well, I will be sporting a manly stache and bringing in cash. I will update my picture as I increase my follicle growth each week, no matter the ridiculousness of my appearance. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. (By the way, DonorsChoose.org is a 501(c)3 ... more

  • Sound Affects - Part II

    Funded Feb 11, 2010

I would like to thank you for the tremendous contribution you have made to my current and future students. You enable us to engage in a daily routine where groups of students rotate to the listening center, then respond to the literature after listening / reading the book at the center. All of my students look forward to this routine, and inquire about it every morning to ensure they will get their listening center time. They have remained engaged in this routine through the year, and have gained exposure to a wide variety of literature.

I am extremely thankful for your kindness, and your support for inner-city public school classrooms like mine.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arafin

  • Table Talk!

    Funded Feb 12, 2010

Thank you so much for your most generous donation to my class. We are using the group learning table for small group instructions for literacy, math, science and art. It is essential for students with learning disabilities to be able to receive small group instruction to enhance their overall learning experience.

Being a teacher in an urban school, it is often very difficult to receive new materials like a group table. The cost may not be surmountable to others but when it comes to books and other learning materials, group learning tables are pushed in the background. Once again, thank you for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Groves

  • We Love to Read!

    Funded Feb 7, 2010

My students start school with less opportunities and resources than the average American student. Your support to supply my students with resources that help them learn helps me stay motivated in giving them my best as their teacher. I cannot express my gratitude for your help in giving my students more supplies to keep them excited about reading and learning.

My students were very excited about the books on CD. They have enjoyed picking out which story they want to read and reading along with the CD as they listen to it. They absolutely love the mystery readers that you supplied. They like the books because they are easier to read and they can use a magnifying class to solve the mystery at the end of each book.

Your donation helped make some special students be more successful in both reading and life!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hostetter

  • Multimedia Project For MultiDisciplinary Classroom

    Funded Feb 27, 2010

I would just like to thank you for your generous donation to purchase a projector for my class. We have already used the projector in every subject, showing students math, science, reading, and social studies video clips to help them better understand their curriculum. The students love learning with technology and it easily fits into their curriculum!

Without donations from wonderful people such as you, there would be a lack of technology in the classroom. At a time when education budgets are constantly being cut, it is your generosity that helps students achieve their goals and gain a love for learning. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hall
