Help a classroom in support of Grizzly's Giving Page
This seems worthwhile. You can help kids learn, one project at a time. Each of these projects is relatively small, for one classroom, and you KNOW when you give exactly what you're giving for. Hope you can help. Thanks! Grizzly

  • Using Rekenreks to Teach Number Sense With First Graders

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation. The rekenreks are amazing! When they first arrived, I went into the 1st grade classrooms and worked with students on addition word problems with numbers up to 100. The kids worked in pairs to solve the problems and then wrote out how they were thinking about the numbers and how they used their rekenrek to find a solution. It was wonderful to see the students puzzling over problems and solving them in different ways and then being able to communicate their thinking both orally and on paper.

Our students use the rekenreks almost every day and the kids really enjoy them. Recently the 1st graders started learning multiplication and they are using the rekenreks to make equal groups of numbers and figure out how to count those groups.

The rekenreks allow for many opportunities for students to think about numbers flexibly and solve problems in new and exciting ways. Thank you for your support. This powerful counting tool is possible because of generous donors like you. Your donation is helping current students and will also help many students throughout the years.”

  • Kindles Oh Kindles Are What We Need to Help Us Read!

    Funded Apr 5, 2016

    Dear Donors!

No words can express the eagerness to read, listen and speak about the various books downloaded on our kindles. Kindle Center time is the number one selection in our daily schedule. My students are eager to create quality work in an effort to listen to the books on the kindle. They are ready, set, and willing to explore the "Adventures of Jaden Toussaint", "Captain Underpants", and "Nancy Clancy", just to name a few. With your generous donation, my 1st grade students are well on their way to becoming successful readers. Thank You for aiding in the success of our future leaders.”

  • Art-filled Science Lab Books

    Funded Dec 2, 2008

Thank you very much for your donation. I am very excited to give each student a notebook to create science memories. My students are really struggling with the economic times and receiving a notebook will help them with the supplies they do not have.

I have asked for an extended response time so that my students will have one quarters worth of work to show you. My students look forward to sharing this with you!

  • Writing In A Flash!

    Funded Nov 17, 2008

Thank you so much for the support of my project, "Writing in a Flash!" My students and I are so excited that this comes just in time for our big research writing unit. Students will be thrilled at the ability to transfer their work from school to home! (Truthfully, they may not be thrilled with the work itself, but this will make it a tiny bit easier!) We really appreciate your generosity. Not only will this positively impact our immediate future, but students will benefit from this donation throughout this school year and coming years. Thanks for supporting students in public education”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coudron
