It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. Thank you for your generous donations to our Landforms of the Jocko Valley science unit. We have enjoyed building many landforms with the clay and presenting these pieces of artwork to other classes. During our presentations to other students, we compared and contrasted the similarities and differences of these landforms. We are fortunate to have many landforms to observe and study in our valley; from mountains, hills, rivers, valleys, cliffs, waterfall, lakes, and glacier entities.
Playing the science content games has strengthened and deepened our understanding of geology. While using the sand in our trays to observe and manipulate how rivers flow, we get to see how erosion continues to play a part in the formation of our valley.
Without generous donations from people like you, these types of science activities would not be possible for my students.
My Art classes would like to thank you for your generous donations to our Art Program. The tables that we were able to purchase with the money you donated are fabulous. We have used them to paint, draw, and create ceramic pieces. The tops are adjustable, so each student can create the work space that best suits them while they work. Now, when we walk into our room, there is a sense of artistic creativity. Students are able to sit at a table and work, uninterrupted. Someone erasing at another table does not effect their work. Wonderful. Thank you again.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Toynbee
