Thank you so much for your donation to my "Music for Young Dancers" project! Your generosity has helped fund the ipod and speakers that I use every day to play music for students in my dance class. Up to 300 children from Pre-K through third grade have had the opportunity to dance jazz, ballet, hip hop, and salsa using music from our new equipment.

My students are so grateful for the music you have provided for us. They love to listen to a variety of songs and styles of music, from classical Tchaikosky to Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber. Without this new ipod and speakers, we would be a dance program without music! Thanks again for giving us the music that motivates our dancing.”

Thank you so much for all the materials. I cannot tell you how much they have helped my students. The bean bags and Cd's are used on a weekly basis with the younger students and have improved their steady beat skills immensely. They sing to the songs now and are excited when we get started. They love when I read them a book that ties in with what they are learning.

The intermediate classes have just started using their composer books and timelines. The timelines are always up and they love seeing all the old composers that they've heard of. The composer books are used for researching and presentations. They enjoy learning about composers that they never knew about.

The holiday songs and recorder holiday songs were so much fun to teach. We all had a great time learning them and performing them. I know the parents really loved them as well.

I want to personally thank each of you for the outstanding contribution you have made to our program. Everyone "ooo"s and "aah"s our new hand drums. The were a great addition to our Christmas concert at the middle school and open up new opportunities at the high school level too. Music for percussion is growing rapidly and that means having the available resources to play the music we want to play. I would hate to know my students were being left out due to a lack of financial backing. Please continue to support donors choose. I want our program to be the very best. Thank you so much for your gift. The students and I have really enjoyed using the gong. It is a wonderful addition to our percussion equipment. Many of these students have never seen one, but they all knew what it sounded. Now they also have the opportunity to play it for themselves! Thank you for making that possible. It is so wonderful to receive such nice equipment (NEW equipment). Often times urban schools get what is leftover - used and broken equipment. Thank you for making music happen!”

I am so grateful for your donations. I have used this years budget to buy harnesses for our drums. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have 2 marching snares, one set of tenors, and 3 bass drums. Most of these were donated through Donors Choose. We begin drum line practice next week. The kids are so excited to become a real drum line. They will be so proud to put the drums on and play. Our goal is to march in our Thanksgiving day parade as a band in 2012. With your help we are going to do it. I want to be one of the few middle schools to have ever done that. That is our goal. I can not thank you enough. I will be taking pictures at our rehearsal and will post them as soon as we rehearse. Thanks again so very much!”

The beginning band is always full of so much excitement and your donations will allow one more student to enjoy that experience.

Pedro is doing very well. He started in beginning band this September. He is already proving to be one of the better flautists in the beginning band, and practices at home constantly according to his parents. Thank-you so much for helping him have this opportunity.

I thank you deeply for your generous gift. We have started a new go- around of the Bad Bunnies and it is going fabulously! Your donation is helping me provide a one of a kind experience to the children of P.S. 126. The kids have an opportunity to express themselves and discuss Thier lives in a way that not usually be afforded them.

Also, in addition to using the guitar for the Bad Bunnies I have began giving introductory guitar lessons to the students in the morning before school. They are absolutely thrilled to be given a chance to explore the guitar and music in a way they are not accustomed to! ”

The students will also now get a chance to play different styles of music, as well as music from other parts of the world.
