Attention Florida science education supporters: here's your chance to share your love of all things science! Support our teachers right here in the Sunshine State who want to foster a love for science in their students. Florida Citizens for Science will match total donations dollar for dollar up to $1,000. Let's make a difference together for science education!
In closing out the school year we were able to complete one more lab. My students LOVE LOVE LOVE doing labs, so any chance they have to "play" they are ready. Having labs available for students allows them to practice what we have been learning, gain a greater understanding of how to practice science as well as incorporate math and social skills.
The Climate Change Lab was a good lab that enabled us to discuss as a class the practice of science. The lab did not go as planned; and that is ok. Students were still able to practice science, forming a hypothesis based on knowledge gained in class, collecting and recording data,, graphing and analyzing data. In the lab we expected the "Earth" with "greenhouse gases" ie: the saran wrap to incase in temperature m ore so than the "Earth" without greenhouse gasses ie, no saran wrap. Because we did not get the expected results we discussed possible explanations, we talked about how we could improve the lab and explored how this could be applied to the big picture of climate change.
We will be doing this lab again next year, with some modifications; and we have enough materials to last for several years.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ross

Words can't express our gratitude to you. Your donations have sparked such excitement for learning. Students really enjoyed learning using the different hands-on activities. I have been able to witness light bulbs come on this year. Most of the students were to experience learning in a new way. This excitement will continue to grow with them. Again I can't thank you enough, children learned through stem, hands-on centers, language, and phonics games. Through your donations, I have been able to offer a world-class experience. Thank you for making teaching a little easier”
My students had so much fun using the dissection kits.
We learned about sexual reproduction in plants and then with the help of individual dissection kits, they were able to dissect flowers and identify the male and female reproductive parts of angiosperms.
It was so much easier for them to do the entire lab without getting frustrated or destroying specimens. They also learned how to handle these tools, their care, and proper cleaning and storage techniques.
They were excited to show their findings to their friends and parents.
I cannot thank you enough for helping me give this experience to my students. It was amongst the best labs of the year!”

The materials for this project have made a huge impact on my students and for that I wanted to express my deepest gratitude.
Space is a topic that even though students are highly interested in, it is also very abstract and distant. With the models that I was able to purchase using your generous donations I am now able to offer my students a little more "hands on" type of experiences and allow them to explore space differently.
Thank you for all your support of my classroom and I hope to see you as a donor in one of my other projects as well.”

Thank you so very much for helping my young scientists! Your donation to my Kindergarten students had brought to them an entirely new love of all things Science!
They can't wait for the next class experiment!
This donation will help them to realize how real scientists dress and act while conducting experiments. They will realize they can conduct fun class experiments and remain safe at the same time! I stress safety all year with all of our experiments, these lab coats and goggles are a perfect way to reenforce this!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Isaacs
