  • A Drive for Learning

    Funded Jan 7, 2009

My students and I are very thankful for your generous donation. My students will be very excited when they get to use their flash drives. Their flash drives will give them the opportunity to become more familiar with technology, which they need to become successful students. Once again, thank you for your kindness”

  • The Demon Under the Microscope

    Funded Dec 2, 2008

Thank you for funding out project. The students will be thrilled to get their own copy of this book. We have had to xerox the chapters and this leaves a lot to desire as far as literacy appreciation with teenagers. They do not like reading books in that format. They are getting a lot out of the book, too. We just finished a segment on the current situation regarding the number of bacterial infections that are non-treatable due to the resistance that we are creating by the misuse of antibacterials. We are reading the book along with our lessons. So again, thank you for your very generous donation and know that you have helped these students understand how important their choices about health contribute to the general health of the public.

    Best Regards and Happy Holidays,

    Cathry”

  • Triumphs of Students: Learning Reading and Writing with Art

    Funded Oct 1, 2008

Thank you so much for contributing to this project. The students and I are very excited about starting the projects and are very grateful for your support! Without your commitment and support, we would not have been able to participate in the projects. Although, especially today, we need to have high standards for all students, school can still be a place where students enjoy learning and can participate in hands on activities to further their education. Without your support, we would not be able to instill a creative, hands-on learning environment. I am also extremely thankful because I know that the economy is causing many people to tighten their purse strings right now. However, my students and I are very appreciative that you have made the choice to make continuing education a priority. Thank you”

  • Chemistry Connections

    Funded Oct 21, 2008

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are very excited to engage in the hands-on experiments that your donation will enable. We will be exploring mixtures, solutions, and chemical changes in a variety of lab investigations. In addition, my students will be better prepared for high school chemistry by engaging in my laboratory investigations such as this one. Thank you for making science fun and applicable for kids”

  • Data Collection For Math Lab

    Funded Nov 19, 2008

Thank you for your donation. We will be able to use this device within our math department to help demonstrate the relationship between distance and time problems and model real-life physics problems. I plan on using this device in a few months with my Pre-Algebra class and my Algebra classes. My students will be able to use this device for their projects that they complete in the Fall and Spring as well. It will be exciting for them to have the opportunity to use technology in the classroom (especially in a math class) to help them learn about the world around them. Thank you”

  • Sewage or Solar - Audacious Ideas to Save the Planet

    Funded Oct 6, 2008

Thank you for your generous support of my project, "Sewage or Solar - Audacious Ideas to Save the Planet." Your contribution is helping my students understand ways of protecting our environment by conserving natural resources now and in the future. Your gift will allow them to explore numerous new "living green" technologies and to creatively develop model homes of sustainable living themselves. You've given my students the opportunity to fall in love with science! My sincere thanks”

  • "Sketchbook Explorations"

    Funded Sep 30, 2008

I am so excited about getting the sketchbooks. I did use sketchbooks last year with my class and it was a great success. I have already started to use drawing as a way of enhancing social studies and science. I so appreciate having the sketchbooks for the kids to use on a daily basis. Even reluctant artists get a lot out of the day-to-day practice. In addition, this year, my kids are really excited by drawing and are very open to trying new creative things. Thanks again!

    Sincerely,

    Nanc”

  • Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Kindergartners Really Do Listen!!

    Funded Sep 18, 2008

Thank you so much for your generosity. My students and I are thrilled that our proposal was funded. We can't wait to enjoy our new listening center. Story time is an important part of our Kindergarten program and for my students to now be able to listen to stories as they follow along will be so incredibly valuable. You have made our wonderful Kindergarten classroom just a little more wonderful. Thanks again for your support. It means so much to me as a teacher to know that education is valued and important to others.

    Sincerely,

    Dan”

  • Falling in Love with Greek Myths

    Funded Sep 18, 2008

I am overwhelmed by your generosity. You do not know how much it will mean to my students to have this beautiful book in their hands.

When I first got the e-mail from DonorsChoose.org that my project had been funded, I could not believe it. Now I am just filled with excitement at the prospect of watching my students read the stories for the first time. My students are always so engaged by interesting materials, and your gift is going to have a great impact on their learning.

Thank you so very much. May those zany Olympian gods bless you”

    Funded Sep 16, 2008

I want to send out a huge THANK YOU! We are so very excited to have books that are culturally relevant to our students' lives so that they can share this with others within the school. It builds a community and opens communication and educates kids about diversity.
