  • Hook'em then cook with them

    Funded Oct 8, 2008

Thank You !! Thank You !! Thank You !! My students are so excited to get cooking. We will practice our "real life " math skills, share in a fun time, and do some seasonal recipes. I am also hoping to bring social studies alive and have them cook food from around the world. We have 42 different countries represented at our school so there is a lot to choose from. We cannot wait to get started. Thanks again, Jane”

  • Ready, Set, Action!

    Funded Oct 6, 2008

First of all, I would like to thank you for your generosity and your donation. I have been teaching for 25 years. I have entirely supplied my class with the necessary materials to improve their learning. My goal as a teacher is to make sure the students succeed in all areas of academics, especially in reading. I was screaming with excitement that my project had been funded!!! I will use these tools to enhance other areas of teaching to increase academic scores.

    Gratefully yours,

    Jane”

  • Movin' and Groovin' to Make Learning Fun!

    Funded Sep 27, 2008

Thank you so much for providing my students and me with the materials to "move and groove" to make our learning fun! We are so appreciative of your kindness and I am positive that your gift will make a huge impact on my classroom. Teaching students how to be active, while still learning, can be a challenge. However, I know that using these materials will keep my students engaged while still teaching them important skills and concepts. I am looking forward to the day these materials arrive so that I can begin using them with my students! Thank you again for your kindness and generosity.

    Sincerely,

    Jessic”

  • Tennis Anyone?

    Funded Sep 16, 2008

I want to thank you very much for choosing to donate to my project. West Virginia has a high child obesity rate. Tennis is an activity that can be played throughout one's lifetime, whether it is played on a court or set up in an area at home. The students that I taught tennis to last year seemed to enjoy it very much. The additional nets will make the game more realistic. Thank you again for making this donation to my students”

  • Love Stinks....In Tennis!

    Funded Sep 11, 2008

I want to express my appreciation for your generosity. The students in our physical education classes will be extremely happy to use the equipment you have funded. Many students in our classes have a low exposure to tennis. We feel that this equipment will give them the opportunity to be successful and therefore enjoy this lifetime activity.

    Thanks again!

    Sincerely,

  • Teaching Literacy With Teaching Tubs

    Funded Sep 3, 2008

Today I realized that my grant was about to expire and my heart sank. I was thinking about how I really needed the teaching tubs this year. I have two classrooms of very smart Kindergarteners and also had a schedule change with one classroom of First Graders. Even more than expected, I needed these items for the ESOL first graders. It will help them learn the letter sounds, as well as the more difficult blends, digraphs, and rhyming words in an interactive way! By using these materials, they are more likely to apply it to all areas of their learning. I screamed for joy when I saw the email that you funded this grant. Thank you so much for thinking of my students, it means so much.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. ”

  • Let Us Show You Our Work!

    Funded Aug 20, 2008

Thank you so much for provided my students with the opportunity to decorate their classroom with beautiful and bright colors. With funding as it is now, it is very difficult for me as a teacher to provide my students with anything other than necessities. That is why your gift is so special to us. Without your generosity my students and I would have just made due without the materials you have provided to us. I am so touched to know that their are people like yourself who care about my students and their success as much as I do. I cant not wait to see the look on their little faces when they see all of the beautiful supplies you have sent to them. they will be so excited to post their work! You are a true blessing to us. Thank you so much for your help.

  • Middle School Baseball Tournament Needs Equipment

    Funded Aug 15, 2008

An immense thank you to our generous benefactor. You have no idea how grateful we are to you for supplying athletic equipment to our gym/health program. Our students are in desperate need of new and varied gym equipment to keep them active and attentive during gym periods. Both the phys ed teacher and myself are weary of seeing boys play basketball and girls jump rope. Our students need to have their horizons broadened in reference to alternative sports. Your generous gift of baseball equipment will now enable us to build on the skills the students learned last year during kickball.Last year we started kickball tournaments in the schoolyard where classes competed against one another. The excitement in the building was contagious. Both myself and the physical education teacher noticed a decrease in violent behaviors while the students were involved in tournaments since poor behavior would exclude a student from playing in the tournament.Needless to say, nobody wanted to be excluded. Again, thank you. I can't wait to share with you pictures of your gift in action”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. w.
