This is just a small token of gratitude for your gift to my classroom. We are conducting a play in May and the materials have been a huge help. The students are still decorating the mural and are excited about the outcome.Using an overhead projector, I was able to project an image onto the mural. The students then traced the image and are currently painting it.

My budget for this play was exactly zero dollars! We were able to create a scene with pictures of movie stars on the back wall. This was my biggest expense and I appreciate all of your help with this.

Unfortunately, the Arts are painfully underfunded. My students are low income and rarely get the opportunity to express themselves through art. Thank you for your contribution.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bartels

  • Inquiring Minds Want to Know: Scientific/Nonfiction Texts

    Funded Oct 24, 2012

I am so grateful for your donation to my project. I can't wait to begin using these materials to inspire children through science education.

The items that you have funded will help children be inspired to learn about the wonders of science. No longer will children be bored with the science texts that they have. Now they can read books at their own reading level and they can continue to challenge themselves to explore many science topics.

Thank you so much. Your gifts are greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

  • Artists at Work!

    Funded Sep 29, 2012

Thank you so much for donating to our project! We are so grateful to you for your help in obtaining art supplies and famous artists books. Our school, as with most others these days, has suffered extreme budget and personnel cuts in the last few years. I am responsible for my students academic as well as physical and visual and performing arts education. With the addition of these new books and supplies we are enjoying our purposeful and meaningful art education time. So far, we have studied Edvard Munch, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Roy Lichtenstein, and have created masterpieces that reflect each artist's style. My students really look forward to learning more about art and famous artists and to painting their own Picasso inspired self-portrait on real canvas! Without donors like you, my students may never have gotten the opportunity to learn about art and artists, and their moms may not have had masterpieces to cherish for ever.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rowan

  • Pencils And Markers And Crayons, Oh My!

    Funded Nov 3, 2012

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The classroom supplies such as the crayons, pencils, color pencils, markers, folders, paper, sharpener, stamps, etc, have helped my students get motivated and excited to complete activities in class.

Our school unfortunately has a low socio-economic status and with your help, my students are able to use new materials that bring joy to their faces when completing activities. They respect the materials and take responsibility to keep them neat, and organized. They love to complete all task in order to get to their final drafts and publish their work with art.

Without your help, it wouldn't be possible for my students to complete their work and make a piece of art. Thank You.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Aponte

  • Dress For Success in Pre-K

    Funded Oct 11, 2012

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful costumes! The children will love dressing up and learning about different cultures. This type of play is great for their little imaginations and for learning about the world in which they live. Your donation makes this wonderful experience possible. The children will learn so much about others and they will also be working on their social interaction skills. These costumes will be available to the group of children I am teaching this year as well as many classes in the future. Dress up is something all children love to do! These costumes will give the children an opportunity to experience the heritage of others in a concrete way. I believe that they will learn to embrace and become accepting of other cultures. I plan to have the children put on a performance using these costumes. Please stay tuned for pictures of the children in action in their new costumes.”

  • Dress Up Time!

    Funded Aug 7, 2012

This note is just a small token of my appreciation for your generous donation to my classroom. The career costume set from Lakeshore Learning is such a joy for my young students. I love to see all students dressing in all costumes and crossing gender norms. It is a benefit I did not even think about when I asked for the costumes originally! The children are roll playing, team-building, and building oral language skills that are so important to develop!

Thank you for recognizing that the arts are an integral part of education! To the individuals, thank you for your support! To Starbucks, I can't tell you how excited I am that a corporation is supportive of arts programs in school. My friends and family now have stopped by Starbucks a little more frequently to show thanks to you!

Again, Thank you for your donation, and your support of arts education!”

    With gratitude,

  • Playing Dress Up: Socializing in the Classroom

    Funded Oct 29, 2012

Thank you so much for your donations. You are helping my students experience careers that they may not have been able to experience in their daily lives. My hope is that these dress up items will inspire my students to try a career that they have not seen before. I also hope that they will experience new things and be encouraged to seek out new adventures that may be outside of their environment.

Again, thank you so much for your gift. We are very grateful.”

  • Don't Forget The Arts!

    Funded Oct 11, 2012

Thank you all for your generous donation to fund this project! We received the materials this week and we have completed our self portraits. They are fabulous and the resemblance is remarkable! We took our time to talk about features and how to keep it as realistic as possible. They are very proud of their finished work and are excited to share it with all to see. It's a treat to have the materials you have provided because we are severely limited to scarce supplies. I will try to share them with my first grade colleagues. I am glad to say, "No more "stick" people in first grade"! We are artist in the making thanks to donors like you!

Thank you as we continue to "Believe"!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Yokoyama

  • Mom, We Love You!

    Funded Oct 1, 2012

Thank you to all of the very generous donors who helped to make my project come to life. I am so very excited to make many mothers feel special on a very important day of the year.

My students do not get a chance to show their mom's how they feel with material items on Mother's Day. Many of these students come from lower income homes and can not buy things for their moms. When our package arrived they were so excited to go through the items and see what they would get to make to show appreciation for someone that is so important in their lives. You have truly touched these children by giving them a chance to do something fun all while showing appreciation for others. Thank you!!”
