This holiday season, instead of sending out holiday cards or our time worn (and some would say tacky) animated online holiday card please join us in making a holiday donation to fund education programs. Choose from one of the school projects below. Or search for other projects at http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/search.html. Just send the URL for the project page to sales @ eVisionSEM.com and we’ll add them to this list. Thanks from eVision!!!
  • Enhance Reading and Comprehension Skills with Excitement

    Funded Dec 29, 2008

I am very excited to be in receipt of your donation to the Marblehead Charter School. Your generosity is greatly appreciated at this time. The students will definitely reap the rewards of this reading project donation indefinitely.

By having access to Books on Tape along with accompanying headsets, my students will be able to listen and stayed focused for a sustained reading period independently. This vital tool enhances the love of reading and will build self confidence for a lifetime.

Your donation of this popular children's book, "Al Capone Does My Shirts" on tape will give them endless pleasure. They have been looking forward to this gift ever since I mentioned that I asked for it.

Again, my sincere thanks for such a thoughtful gift”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. C.

  • Using Scientific Calculators to Solve Math/Engineering Problems

    Funded Dec 13, 2008

I AM VERY HAPPY THAT I AM GETTING THESE CALCULATORS. THEY WILL BE OF GREAT HELP, ESPECIALLY WITH THOSE STUDENTS HAVING DIFFICULTY SOLVING MATH PROBLEMS WITHOUT THE HELP OF A CALCULATOR. THE CALCULATORS WILL BE OF BENEFIT TO OVER 700 STUDENTS WHO PASS THROUGH MY CLASS ON A WEEKLY BASIS. THE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY FOR THE MATH AND ENGINEERING PROBLEMS CAN NOW BE RAISED AND BE MORE CHALLENGING. THIS IS ONLY POSSIBLE BECAUSE I NOW HAVE THESE CALCULATORS. I NO LONGER HAVE TO GO TO OTHER TEACHERS TO BORROW. THANKS A MILION FOR THIS GOOD GESTURE.

  • Books for Boys

    Funded Dec 1, 2008

Thank you so much for funding all of these books for boys! Just today I was watching a group of 5 boys share one football book and was thinking how wonderful it would be to have a basket full of books for them to choose from. Thank you for making this dream come true. Each book, from baseball to dinosaurs, will be read and re-read more times than you can imagine! I am very grateful for your donation and hope you know how much it means to me and to my students for you to donate to our project. Thank you”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. B.

  • I Know 1 + 1 = 2, But Do YOU?

    Funded Dec 20, 2008

Wow! What a surprise! I decided to check my email for work on this quiet, snow-covered Sunday night, not really expecting to see anything of value in there, when in fact, I couldn't be more wrong! I see the best Christmas gift I could have asked for! Now, after Christmas break, my math kids can feel just as smart as their peers. These purchases will allow my kids the opportunity to gain momentum and strides in math, but also in their self-esteem. I cannot thank you enough. Enjoy the holiday season”

  • Is There Anything Better Than a New Book?

    Funded Mar 1, 2009

Is there anything better than a new book? Well, after receiving the beautiful books you so graciously bought us, we can unequivocally tell you: NO, there is not! The day the books arrived was such an exciting day! The children and I unpacked them and looked at each one, one at a time, touching it, taking it all in. It was such a privilege to be able to receive such a generous gift, that we would never have if it were not for you. These books are already being read, borrowed, and treasured. We thank you from our HEARTS for this gift of literacy. One of my students said the other day, " These books are better than $1000.00!" I think that says it all. High-quality books for my students to read. Such a simple sentence that means so very much. We thank you more than we can say.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Davis Riley

  • Class Novels For 7th Graders

    Funded Dec 7, 2008

You can't possibly imagine how much your donation means to my class and my students. Since submitting my proposal, we have evacuated for two hurricanes and have taken a direct hit from one - Hurricane Ike. We lost two weeks of school, and many of our students lost books, homes, and everything they owned. Having a new set of class novels, or at least a huge addition to the set, will mean more to us than just crisp covers and unfolded pages. To many of our students, they are a means of getting away from the day-to-day stresses of a post-hurricane lifestyle and a look into other worlds and ways of life that they have never seen. By helping foster a solid base of reading skills, your donation will make it more possible for them to see those worlds for themselves in the future”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher

  • The Coexistence of Good and Evil: To Kill A Mockingbird

    Funded Nov 24, 2008

Thank you so much for your donation to our project. The students are so excited about reading To Kill a Mockingbird because they know it is something they can relate to. So many of them are turned against literature because they feel that they are made to read. I have no doubt that they will enjoy reading To Kill a Mockingbird and will be able to take valuable lessons from the book. Without your donation, our classroom would not be able to have a complete set of our own. We're excited!

    Thank You,

    Ms. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. T.
