It is with mixed emotions that I am participating in Mustaches for Kids. That's right, for the next four weeks, I will be subjecting myself to public humiliation and private doubt by growing what will no-doubt be a ridiculous looking Mustache. In order to justify this endeavor I need your support. Please sponsor my Mustache by picking a classroom project from the list below to support. And wish me and my Mustache luck. Thank you SO much for your amazing donation of books, story kits, and boards to my Kindergarten classroom. My students have become much more accurate storytellers since the kits have characters and props to help them remember what happens. They are choosing these kits to work together and are asking for other books to add to our new collection.
Having these kits to support storytelling is helping to improve my students' reading comprehension. They are working harder to tell the stories in the correct order and the props help them to remember all of the important details. They were even able to put the kits back into the correct bags when someone combined two stories.
These kits are fast becoming one of the most popular choices in our classroom. The two boards and storytelling glove allow the children to work in small groups on different stories, which give me the opportunity to focus on specific students for a short period of time while their friends are cooperating on an important skill.
These kits will continue to be an important part of my classroom; I am already looking for more ways to use the boards this year and in the future. Thank you again for your generous gift which will help grow the love of reading in my students.”
Thank you so much for your help in donating to my project. Comprehension is a very difficult skill for my students to master because it can often be abstract. The games and centers that you helped to fund make comprehension much more hands-on for them. My students really enjoy them and have begun to request that we work with them.
It means so much to me that you took the time to read my proposal and donate to my project. This year has been a very difficult financial year for school systems and it is the fun manipulatives and games that my children need so much that have been cut. Thank you again for taking the time to support my students and those with Special Needs.”
Our class would like to thank you for the wonderful rug you contributed towards for our classroom. Students are now able to sit together to enjoy read alouds and morning message. We can do shared writing activities together on the rug and even use it for small group work. The students are also benefiting from the English and Spanish words that are on the rug. They are enjoying working together to count in both languages and read the nouns. Thank you very much for providing these learning opportunities for the students and enhancing their education through our generosity. It has truly made a difference.”
With gratitude,

Thank you very much for your very generous donations! The students in my class and as well as my well-used books greatly appreciate the book bags that have been donated. The bags are helping keep my books in very good condition which will help students in the future be able to read these books as well.
The students eagerly look forward to reader's workshop every day because they have bright red bags that hold "THEIR" books. They really have a huge sense of pride about their books and their reading time and they did not have as big of a sense of pride before we had these bags. The bags excite them and remind them that they want to and CAN read. All of my students are becoming successful readers and beyond that are learning to LOVE to read.
The students and I really appreciate your donations!!!! THANK YOU!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Simon

Thank you so much for your donation to our school. We are so grateful for your support of our attendance initiative. This year we have been able to see our attendance steadily increase, despite the impact of the Swine Flu and the horrible winter that we faced. Our attendance has remained above our goal of 94% for every month since we started the program. The students love the incentives that we have been able to offer them individually and as classrooms. Giving classrooms the opportunity to win a basketball helped our classrooms to work together towards a common goal. It taught them teamwork and it also helped to reinforce the importance of coming to school every day. Thank you again for your generous donation!”
Words really cannot express how grateful my students and I are for your immensely generous donation. Thanks to you, my students have been able to learn in a more engaging and memorable way each and every day! We have used the television to view PowerPoint presentations on root words and affixes, play Jeopardy to review text features and text structure, model how to perform various mathematical algorithms, watch animated videos of the heart, and we were even able to watch live footage of Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog Day!
My students really enjoy having this awesome television in our classroom to make their daily learning more fun and exciting. They are sincerely gracious for your donation as well. As we have prepared to take our "thank you photos", they were very disappointed to learn that they will not be able to actually meet you and thank you in person!
Again, many, many thanks to you. I am amazed and truly grateful for your support and generosity. You have made a huge impact on my current AND future students, and I simply cannot thank you enough. ”
This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The dictionaries you have donated have helped my students every single day. The students were so excited to use these colorful and child-friendly dictionaries to complete their assignments. We have used them to learn new words, to write poems and essays, and to complete homework assignments. They have also been a valuable tool for teaching the students reference skills.
Many of the students in my classroom are English Language Learners and have difficulty with vocabulary. These dictionaries have proven to be a very valuable resource for them.
Without donors like you, many of my students, as well as students around the United States, would go without. We appreciate your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gowans
