Words can not express how thankful I am for the materials you have provided my students. We use the Vocabulary Development Photo Card Libraries on a daily basis. They have helped my students associate items in the community, identify food, animals, etc. We use them during our functional writing and Community Based Instruction lessons. Some students enjoyed looking at the photos during their own free time.
The Money Hands on Listening Center has allowed my students to identify the basics of interaction with money. This item has really helped them during their functional math activities as the majority of my students goals are based on learning about money, purchases, and using the dollar over strategy. These two materials have really played a huge part of my every day curriculum in my classroom as I started off with no curriculum and really no resources. My para-educators and I can not believe how big of a difference these two items have really made in our classroom and with our students.
Once again I can not thank you enough for your kind donation, as you have helped make a difference in the lives of my students. You have provided them with the resources they needed. ”
Thank you so much for your recent contribution to my classroom! We received our document camera, and it was a huge hit. When it arrived, the students were ecstatic. They opened the box, read through the manual, and set everything up themselves. They even wanted to miss recess to finish installing the software!
Once everything was up and running, they loved using the document camera in class. They loved displaying their work on the document camera for their peers to see. One highlight was during Science when we used the document camera for our snail observation. We put one of the snails on the document camera, and every student was able to see the snail moving around and then eating. Every kid was engaged, and it was great for everyone to be involved at once instead of having to take turns with the few snails.
Thank you again for making this resource a reality for our classroom. I can't wait to incorporate it into my teaching for years to come”
I am writing to express my deep appreciation for your donation of five graphing calculators for my classroom. These advanced calculators not only allow the students to graph functions and to understand how changes in a equation are reflected in the graph, but the additional modules available for these calculators also allow the students to interactively explore geometric objects — for example, triangles, or quadrilaterals — and complete hands-on activities.
The students are always more engaged when they can complete their activities with the benefit of technology. These calculators have a "cool" factor that grabs their interest in a way that white boards and books no longer can. Every student that has turned one of these on for the first time has exclaimed that they are "tight" or "sick" — high praise from a high school student — and has proceeded to get right to work on their assignment.
My students and I both appreciate your gift. These calculators have made mathematics enjoyable again for many of my students.”
AH! I can't believe the time has gone by so quickly. I want to thank you so much for your generous donations and apologize for taking so long to do so. We always do our big art projects in the Springtime and this year has been crazy. We have just started our art unit and are so excited to use all of the wonderful things your generosity as made possible for us. We have learned about line & color wheel and will begin our lesson on perspective next week. After these few lessons we will be using the wonderful canvases and acrylics you were so wonderful to help us get. We do art all throughout the year but learn about art and artist in this unit. I can't wait for us to use the rest of the materials you provided.
Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. The books purchased supplemented our "math library". I teach AP Calculus and up until now, the kids are working very hard to learn all the concepts that will be tested in May on the AP test. I feel the most important thing I can do for my students is to help improve their confidence and competence in their math abilities.
Once the test is over, I strive to find meaningful activities for my students to complete. Last year was the first year I started my "Literacy in Mathematics" project. My students form groups and each group reads a different novel. The second portion of the project is create a video element to share with the class. They can choose from a movie preview, a music video, or two 30-minute commercials. The project was a great success last year. Your donation added two new titles to the selections available to my students. Some have already finished reading their books ... and a couple have asked if they could check out more books --- to read on their own! It is so nice to see students taking an interest in their learning --- outside of their textbooks.
Your generosity will never be forgotten. We truly appreciate your kindness.
Thank you for your gracious, thoughtful donations to help me start a yoga program with my students. I am grateful that my students will be able to experience the amazing calming benefits of yoga and now thanks to you all, we have the proper materials to implement a yoga program. We recently received the materials and can't wait to start using them on the regular basis!
The calming benefits of yoga will help my students focus and attend better instruction throughout their school day. I would not have been able to start this program without the generosity and kindness of all of you. Being that we are in a high poverty school and have been faced with several district-wide budget cuts, my students never would have had access to these materials or been exposed to yoga if it were not for you all so I cannot say thank you enough.
It gives me such hope for our world as a whole to know that the spirit of kindness and giving still exists even during difficult, financial times that we all have been faced with.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping to make this year memorable for my biology students. The frogs that you donated made for an exciting day for 150 students who otherwise would have only learned about anatomy and physiology through black and white drawings and pictures in outdated textbooks. It was exciting to watch as new worlds came alive to my students. Some, who seemed uninterested all year, dive right in and took control and found that they did like biology!
This year has been difficult for our school district with record budget cuts and shortfalls. There have been days where we have had to explain to our students that they would need to share worksheets because we could not afford more paper that month. Many labs have slowly lost funding and we teachers have all found ourselves paying for labs that the schools used to fund.
Without your donation this lab simply would not have been possible!”
I cannot begin to thank you for the gift you have bestowed upon my students. With budget cuts the way they are, it is almost impossible to obtain new and current novels for students to read that will be more engaging. With you generosity you have made this possible.
My students are actually reading every single word of the inspirational novel Burro Genius. I actually have students who ask if we can read more in class today, or they just take it upon themselves to read ahead.
This story creates such rich book talks and classroom engagement amongst my high school seniors like I have never seen before. They actually enjoy reading and are inspired to write their own stories as well.
Thank you again for your help to allow my students to become lovers of reading again!!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Murray
This classroom project was brought to life by Townsend Press and one other donor.
Our deepest gratitude is extended to you and your generosity. Your donation made it possible for our class to purchase a listening center and books to enjoy at the center. The students have been entertained by Rick Riordan, the author of The Lightening Thief, Roald Dahl, the author of Matilda, and Jeff Kinney, the author of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
The listening center helps the students become better readers and develop a love of literacy. The report Becoming a Nation of Readers states, "The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children." This means that students in all grades should hear text read aloud at home and at school. Hearing a proficient reader helps the students learn reading fluency, pronunciation, and reading with expression. A listening center allows me the opportunity to bring good readers into the classroom.
I appreciate your support toward public education, and in particular my success as an educator and the success of my students.”
With gratitude,

I would like to thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping our basketball program take one more step into establishing a real program at Bruce Randolph. The basketballs have been crucial in providing the resources to develop the skills of our athletes in an individualized setting. The boys are very grateful that for the first time ever we have a full rack of good basketballs.
If only you could have seen the look on their faces when they received the basketballs. They smiled like it was Christmas morning. A couple of them couldn't wait to take the plastic off so they could smell what a brand new ball smells like. They unwrapped them, felt them, sniffed them and every ball was aired up and being shot a basket within 2 minutes of receiving the package.
Once again, on behalf of the community, the school, and the basketball program, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's people like you that help make the world a better place.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Gorman
