Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom for the purchase of headphones. Using iPads in our classroom has allowed the students to become much more engaged in their learning and to begin practicing those 21st century skills they will need to be successful in school and careers.
The headphones also allow us to provide more individualized instruction for the students. Many of them enjoy working at their own pace on different activities, which simply would not be possible without the headphones you helped provide. I am excited to see the longer-term effects of this individualized instruction.
My students and I are infinitely grateful for your generosity. We truly appreciate your donation and willingness to help our classroom.”

Thank you so much for investing in my students! I love my students and I really believe that they have all the potential in the world. Due to their economic status they are not allotted a even playing field. Once given the chance and tools to succeed I know they will sore to greater heights. I truly believe that reading is the key. Through the donations you all have provided my kids I have seen my students get lost in reading. They have really gone on the adventure that a book allows you to experience. Thanks again for providing the pillows to help provide a comfortable setting setting for my students to enjoy reading.”

It has been a great help having these materials for my choir class. The students took to reading intervals and sight reading melodies much more quickly after we began using these books in class. Having this foundation for singing is important and I know the time we had working out of these books was more productive and rewarding for my students and myself.
The ability to purchase appropriate and affordable resources for choir students in public schools is limited. Because of your generosity I could use more of my planning and instructional time focusing on making music rather than creating my own forms and sheet music to help teach concepts we use in class.
I can't thank you enough for making this experience possible for us. I look forward to helping my singers prepare and perform at their best having such wonderful resources in our classroom.”

I cannot thank you enough for your support of my classroom! When the individually leveled books arrived in our classroom, the students were enthusiastic to begin reading. The books immediately became part of our everyday learning! The books are "just-right" for each student meaning that while it is a comfortable read, the book offers a slight challenge. If they master that level, they move to the next. All my students use the books during reading to practice reading strategies and boosting their self confidence!
Many of my students have few, if any, books at home. Therefore, they have many opportunities to sit and read a variety of interesting books. I am so excited to see my children use the materials and engage in the stories! I have been able to share in their many successes using the books!
The help and support of donors like you has already impacted many students and will only continue giving to other students in the future as they engage and enrich their minds!”
I cannot express how truly grateful I am for your generous donation to my classroom. The literacy and math centers have been such a wonderful addition to our classroom. We have used at least one of the centers everyday! The students love them and it makes center time so easy! It has certainly been a blessing to this second year teacher!
The other kindergarten teachers at my school are so jealous of my centers! They come in all the time telling me they wish they had them. This has been a hard year for our kindergarten team; I am so thankful for major blessings this year!
Without your support this blessing to our classroom and classrooms everywhere could not happen. ”
I want to thank each of you for your generous contribution to my Kindergarten classroom. Your kindness and generosity inspire me and my students.
The materials you donated have allowed us to become better readers and writers and has helped us grow in our confidence of our own abilities. Everyone of my students is reading at or above grade level and we still have five weeks left in this year. Your donation is making a real and noticeable difference. The materials have especially benefited my struggling readers because it has provided them with more hands-on ways to work with letters and sounds. The hard work of my students and the kindness of strangers has pushed us along so that we can now read on grade level.
I know that I have the best job in the world and I love that I get to be in my classroom everyday with 15 little inspirations. They come to school everyday from unimaginable home lives, yet they show up happy, excited and ready to learn. They inspire me to be a better teacher everyday and your kindness inspires me to give more of myself to these students everyday.
Please know that my students discuss the "thinkable" people who want them to learn and succeed because they sent them "the bestest stuff" to help them learn. We may not know your names but we discuss you every time we use the materials you have provided. You too are molding and shaping young minds and helping create lovers of reading and lovers of learning.
Thank you for caring about my students and their success and for providing us valuable tools to help us on our journey through kindergarten. Words simply cannot express my gratitude.
The LCD projector, that your generous contributions have brought to our classroom, has changed the way that my students think and learn daily! Using the projector has become an integral part of our interaction with information and has expanded our view of the curriculum. It provides the access necessary to: learn from each others writing, explore current events using the New York Times Learning Network, and interact with web sources to find illustrative examples of unfamiliar concepts. It gives my students the opportunity to expand their understanding of the world, through guided exploration, and allows me to be their thinking partner as we explore controversial topics essential to cultural literacy. It is the perfect tool! It makes thinking and language visible so that both can be scrutinized, understood and refined in ways that are collegial and productive.
The projector has also become integral to instruction that addresses communication and media standards. Used in conjunction with our flip camera, students have been developing informational talk shows on genealogy. The projector has given students timely and constructive feedback which they discuss with their production team. Together they refine speaking skills and apply the conventions of communication media to their projects. None of this would have been possible without your generous support!
Thank you for the opportunity to bring the world of ideas to my students. The LCD projector has made all the difference! ”

Thank you both for your donations! The manikins helped students to draw people in different poses and learn proportions. They loved the multicultural crayons, construction paper and paint, and picking out their completion color. Each material was used in all of my 19 classes. :-) We created 3 different projects. Kindergarten and fourth grade created a self-portrait and used the crayons. First and second grades used the manikins to draw a picture of a 'Special Time with Family', and used the crayons and the paint. Third grade create a collage self-portrait using the construction paper. Fifth grade created a self-portrait painting using the multicultural paint.
Without your donations my students wouldn't have experienced these projects. This was their first time seeing art materials based on multicultural colors. Thank you again!”

Thank you so much for providing these musical instruments for my students. The bass bars that are now in my classroom are being used every single day by children from kindergarten through fourth grade. They are easy for the very youngest students to play, and a rewarding accompaniment sound for the older students as they add a bass line to their singing and performing.
During my first grade classes, we began a song by simply having the bass line played on these bars, then we added guiros, then maracas, and then voices. It was like climbing a staircase musically, and they asked to do it again and again. They were listening, playing in ensemble, and accompanying their own singing, and all because we had these bass notes!
The kindergarten students have already improved their technique when playing the bass bars, and have begun to hold the mallets correctly, strike the bars near the middle, and keep a steady beat. When we played a Valentine's Day song game, we used the bass bars to count time as we moved around in a circle step-hopping while we sang. Every student had a turn, and every student left the classroom with a smile on their face. Having these instruments as teaching tools makes such a difference in the way the students get to experience music. We are sincerely grateful for your gifts. ”

I was both excited and appreciative when I received an email from donorschoose.org informing me that my project, "Teaching Typing to Future Advanced Typers", was fully funded. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use these materials in my classroom. I am eager to begin teaching typing, and will do so as soon as the package arrives!
My students will greatly benefit from the project that you so graciously donated to. I cannot express to you how much it means to me, and to my students. Thank You.”
With gratitude,
Ms. C.
